The Broncos have reached an agreement in principal on a four-year deal with No. 2 draft pick Eddie Royal, who is expected to become the No. 1 punt and kickoff returner.

More details on Royal's signing will be in the Thursday edition of The Denver Post and DenverPost.com.

With Royal signed, the only Broncos player not under contract is first-round pick, Ryan Clady. However, negotiations have been progressing and the Broncos and their rookie left tackle are expected to reach an agreement on a six-year contract by Thursday night.

I'm still skeptical of Royal although I'm hopeful that he can learn from Stokely for a season and then take the reigns next year on the slot position.

I don't know if he has the frame to be an every down guy.

Supposing that happens, it's up to Marshall to get healthy/clean up his act and Keary Colbert to actually do something this year and our WR's will be decent. Stokely can bump to the #4 WR next year.

Surprisingly, I think D Williams has good value this year but is still just a short term answer.

Frame? 5'10" 185-190 is pretty solid. Rod Smith was 6'0 200.
