From your own article:
Hickenlooper said the practice isn't unique to Denver.
"I do know for a fact that they're doing the same exact thing in Minneapolis," Hickenlooper said, referring to the city that along with St. Paul is hosting the Republican National Convention.

See. This is the scope of your thinking. None of you live here. If they want to do that elsewhere, that is certainly fine. And just because Hickenlooper thinks it's going on in some other city means nothing. Do there is no whoops.

The "whoops" wasn't an attempt to excuse the Dems in Denver - it was more of an attempt to point out that people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

I probably have children that have lived in Denver longer than you have.

La and gunns don't live here. And for the rest of you, the head of the RNC says they aren't. But that's got nothing to do with Coloradians getting fleeced.

We are being fleeced in the sense that they are not charging taxes that every one else pays. I also apologize for mispelling a word. I am from here, obviously. Add that in with the 20 million that law enforcement has had to spend to get ready for this thing and you have a situation where this thing is losing money for city and state.

I'm heading to Denver this weekend to catch the fishing/hunting expo and maybe some poker and if any of the socialist partys events get in my way I'll switch partys and become a republican.

Last I knew there wasn't an active socialist party in the U.S.
Also, I don't think the democratic party would care if you change from libertarian to republican, or whatever. You clearly don't vote for them, so whomever you will end up voting for is of little consequence.
