Tony Scheffler had injured the same foot that ahmpered him out of the gate last year. He has been in a walking boot for a few months and missed the OTA's. It looks like he might be ready for TC at this point, but never believe that when Greek is involved...

We knew. From your link:
Jun 27
News: Scheffler (foot) was seen walking around in flip-flops and not the protective boot he has been wearing for the past month, the Denver Post reports.
Spin: This is very positive news for Scheffler, who says that he is fully recovered from his injury and will be 100% for when training camp begins on July 25th.

Seems like Patrick Ramsey or someone else on the team had a similar injury and warned Scheff that recurring soreness was normal and that was a lot of what he was experiencing. I think he'll be okay but he's not exactly been a healthy player. Not quite Nate Jackson but certainly no iron man either. If he could play a full 16 he would be an 800-1000 yard TE with 8+ TDs!

I think Sheff has been one of the biggest concerns here, since he seems to be having recurring issues.
I swear, if this guy could just get healthy, and STAY healthy!
Isnt there a reinforced shoe he can wear?
This guy is just "money" when healthy!

Ah ok Mediator that makes sense. He experienced soreness in OTA's and sat out. He was placed in a boot but he has been quoted as saying he is good to go for camp.

The bad news is it's the same foot. Those kind of nagging injuries scare me.
The good news is it's the same foot. It's not like Shockey where it's one thing and then another. At least we can hope that if his foot gets better we can move forward. When healthy he has some of the best hands on the team.

Yeah. Scares me too. I wonder if its a height to weight issue?
Like, he's always going to have feet problems cause of his size.
Didnt he put on a ton of weight? I cant remember but he either lost or added alot of weight recently.
Honestly, i would take Tony over Shockme any day. Guy is always runnin that mouth. Tony is every bit the recieving threat and i think he has some of the best hands in the NFL! Plus Shef and Cutler are just always on the same page on the field! I would rather have the chemistry between those guys any day of the week. Its only going to get better (hopefully) I think they are friends off the field as well.

Weird, I hadn't heard the pitbull version of the story yet. I guess that's just what the press is going with to cover up the real story... Tony Scheffler's leg was taken apart by aliens. I saw it on Larry King.

I saw that! The segment was called "Aliens attack 90 year-old Pittbull victim's leg" and then they showed some footage of a spec over a corn field. The guests said it was "the tip of the iceberg."

Actually Scheffler's done things for the team during the season. The last meaningful thing I saw Nasty do was catch a third down pass in Cincinnati on Monday Night Football in 2004.

Scheff misses a chunk of time again this yr and that will be it for him. If you can't stay on field then you are of no use to a team. Players that get hurt all 3 yrs to start there career usually end up bouncing around the NFL, never being a full time starter, and being out of nfl in 5-6 yrs

I have serious doubts he can. I'd like to see 14 games contributing this yr minimum. He can't be on the sidelines again for big chunks.
Also Graham needs to catch something once in awhile. The TE have been a let down to say the least.

I usually agree with your takes but your wrong at least in Denvers case. Example Nate Jackson just signed AGAIN this off season for a million bucks.

There are exceptions I agree. For the most part though Jackson will never be a starter because of that slow start. Also if Jackson got injured and cut by Broncos, I bet his career would be over. He could still make me right.

Nate Jackson must be an absolutely phenomenal practice player. He's got Chad-Mustard-like staying power and yet I think he's participated healthily in about 4 regular season snaps.
Sheffler goes on the Nate Jackson list after this year. I love this kid's potential. I think can totally dominate if he can stay on the field. But, another year of ouchies and we can all just skim over his name from then out.

Jackson has been on the active roster for 31 of a possible 80 reg season games. Supposedly, he plays on all the ST's and that's what makes him valuable. For 31 games in 5 years. And 14 career tackles. Not only must he be a great lockerroom guy and a great practice player, as hypothesized by Rev and Popps, but also must be a coach in the making. Or maybe it's just the pictures.

Especially for how much money we're paying him (Graham)...he dropped some pretty key passes last year...can we get Jeb back from the Texans??

You could go about inquiring to the Texans for Jeb, but they'd probably refer you to Seattle and big mac Holmgren...

The only reason Cutler is still healthy this yr is because Graham was there to help the so called OL. I only remember him dropping a couple of passes. The reason he did not get more thrown at him has little to do with his hands and everything to do with Cutler's and the rushing attack's well being.

Graham is a very good reciever as well. He just had to spend the majority of the time on the field protecting our rocket armed, young QB, as Merlin stated.
Best blocking TE in football, and just never had alot of chances to get the ball. He dropped one against J-Ville and everyone was pissed. HE WAS PISSED TOO!!
This year will be much different for Graham, and all of the naysayers will appreciate him that much more!
He is earning his money. its just that last year, he had to earn it busting his @$$ blocking for Cutler.

i think he can acutally get more TD grabs than that. Hell he had 5 the second half of last season, i say healthy and with a decent running game that makes defenses put more in the box to stop the run, coupled with more than just one other receiving threat in Marshall, scheff could have a really good year

Nothing against him, except he struggles to keep people from reaggravating injuries! Too many guys come back too soon.
In all seriousness, a lot has to do with the culture. However, I think DEN struggles to get guys healthy after being injured. It is hard to quantify, but DEN just seems to have problems rehabbing players effectively.

Fixed it for you... and yes, he is a tremendous practice player. He understands the offense very well and makes some of the most amazing catches in practice. Watching him in camp last year was a delight. It's easy to see why the Broncos keep him on the team. When healthy he is a good mismatch b/c of his speed vs LBs and Safeties. I think the Broncos are gambling that one of these years, he'll stay healthy and they'll have a very nice weapon to use 3 or 4 times per game. What I don't get is the difference in his game and Scheff's. They are very similar players IMO.

It's forcing guys to come back to the practice field before they're "ready", and the entire NFL does this. In fact, Denver and Indy are probably 2 of the best with giving semi-sufficient recovery time. NE in stark contrast has to be the worst.

Relaxed practices, 1/2 days at camp for aging vets, substantial recovery time (minus the Walker situation and pushing Al Wilson too hard), etc. Indianapolis, from what I've seen, has treated players the same way.
New England on the other hand, tried forcing Andy Katzenmoyer back after neck surgery when he said it didn't feel right, and he had to walk away from football permanently. They also forced Ted Johnson back to practice the same week after a debilitating concussion... contrast that to giving Ben Hamilton MONTHS before slipping him on the IR to rest up despite being needed last year.

I agree, it may be "old school" as Med suggested. The days of "walk it off" are over...foot injuries are particliarily annoying. Shef doesn't have a problem with pain, but it's up to the docs to be able to tell pain from hurt, especially with footsies, hammies, concussions. Many times knees have to be played on hurt, like Robertson. 10 years, you can bet he's not getting out of the lazy boy for a beer.
