View Full Version : Evidence Obama's Birth Certificate Is Fake?

...and not from the right wing, either. These are Hillary supporters who say the document was Photoshopped by an Obama supporter and the proof is that his original has a minor flaw which shows up on the Daily Kos' version of the birth certificate* as well as the "Stop The Smears" version:
http://texasdarlin.wordpress.com/2008/07/03/update-daily-kos-an-obama-activist-and-forged-birth-certificates/#more-432
The story has also been picked up in Israel:
http://web.israelinsider.com/Articles/Politics/12956.htm
Of course, we must keep in mind that some Democrats still think the blatantly fake CBS Bush National Guard documents are real so there may be a steep learning curve for some folks on the Left.
The real question behind this is: If this document is a fake, what is Obama hiding since his campaign apparently accepts the document as real by posting it on their "Stop The Smears" website? Is it that he can't produce a real one or is it that the real one would reveal something unsettling to the electorate or, possibly worse, disqualifying him for the office of the president?
And, for the loonies who see a Republican evil gremlin behind everything you can't accept or explain, note that the GOP gains nothing for this to be exposed now when the Democrats can still correct the problem. Surely, if they were behind it, the Republicans would wait until October when it is too late for the Democrats to put forth a different candidate.
* - technically, this is a "certification of live birth" which may have different legal standing than the traditional "birth certificate" most American-born people receive.

What we must keep in mind is that some repugs still can't make the distinction between questions about the origins of a memo and questions about the veracity of its claims (and that some repugs continue to ignore the fact that we don't need the CBS memo to prove Dim Son was AWOL from the ANG - there is already more than enough proof.)
And, for the loonies who see a Republican evil gremlin behind everything you can't accept or explain...
Riiiiiight - ~75% of Americans are just 'loonies' because they can't see that the repugs are really boy scouts and GeeDubya is one of the greatest presidents ever and about as far from "evil" as it gets. :D

Completely true: My older brother's birth certificate was a form document with blanks to be filled in. Our doctor filled in the blanks but he did not "close his a's" when he wrote script so where it says "Sex: ________ ", my brother's birth certificate says "Mule". Hilarious!
Fortunately, he bought a typewriter by the time I was born. Ha!

I don't know if I believe it or not but this "crap" is coming from Clinton supporters, not the right wing and the info it provides doesn't conclude that Obama is not a U.S. resident or anything else but what it does imply is that the certificate presented on the Daily Kos website may not be authentic.
For those who lack the reading comprehension, let me give you the shorthand. A blank copy of the "certificate of live birth" exists in .jpg form on a Photobucket website of a higher resolution quality than the examples on Daily Kos and "Stop the Smears". That photo has a minor defect which also shows up on the two Obama certificates on the other sites meant to prove Obama is American-born.
If the certificates were photoshopped from the blank form supplied on Photobucket, then they clearly aren't authentic which leads us to ask why the Daily Kos and "Stop The Smears" (which is run by the Obama campaign) would post a fake document as proof, particularly when it would be easy enough for Obama to obtain a legitimate copy from the State of Hawaii if it says the exact same thing.
Now, there is another explanation and that is that the defect exists in the printed forms owned by the State of Hawaii and that all copies of birth certificates would include this defect because it was a defect in the printing of the form. So, there's the other side.
I don't know which to believe. All I know is that some Hillary supporters apparently aren't satisfied that Obama's certificate is authentic and they give a plausible reason to support their claim.
I think if the Obama campaign wants to put the issue to rest, they can ask the State of Hawaii to mail a notarized copy of the certificate by registered mail in an official state envelope and open up the envelope live before reporters. It would be very hard to refute that sort of chain of evidence.
If the whole issue is a red herring, why not prove it and shut up the doubters?

I don't mind so much if somebody is Republican, or thinks Obama is too inexperienced, whatever. What I mind is people "clinging to" bizarre, way-outside-the-fringe source facts to promote bizarre threories, like Obama cannot be president (or 9-11 truthers for that matter). This whole thing goes back to two recent themes around here that I simply cannot stress enough:1. "Conclusion-based reality," or, people seeking only the information that backs up their opinion (however bizarre), and discarding the rest, is bad, BAD for America, bad BAD for mankind. An agreeable set of base facts is absolutely necessary for any reasoned discourse, and the Internet, along with gullible dimwittery, is a constant threat to reasoned discourse.
2. The "mainstream" news media could never, and would never hide such a story. Not ABC, NBC or CBS; not Fox News, CNN, or MSNBC; not the New York Times, Washingon Post, L.A. Times, or wire services. There are literally hundreds of national news reporters, some of whom I know personally, that would give a year's pay to crack this story. Ever see All the President's Men?
Now let's kill this thread.

I feel insulted that he posted such a weakly supported, nonsense rumor from such a highly dubious source .... as if he thought maybe somebody here might believe it. I find that insulting. I wish there was less nonsense, and more facts. Not just here, but in society in general. It's like the "UFO-Ufologist" mindset has metasticized into every area of news and information. And the Internet (and gullible dimwittery) are entirely responsible for this dumbing down.

McCain Surrenders to Rove; Obama Plays Retro Politics (http://www.smirkingchimp.com/thread/15658)
The possibility is growing for a wholesale public revolt against everyone in Washington, with the nominees of both parties giving away their specialness as political brands.
John McCain is the worst offender, following Bush 44 policies and now bringing in the Karl Rove team to run his campaign. Barack Obama similarly has made so many tactical moves away from his primary campaign that one needs a scorecard to keep track.
McCain on energy sounds like J.R. Ewing from “Dallas.” He plays the pander-of-the-week on issues and his maverick brand is in tatters. He is strangely moving to the right from the right. McCain will not solve his problem; he will decisively destroy his brand by bringing in the Rove team, which suggests he is now reduced to nothing more than demeaning Obama.
Try Atkins ... I'm on Atkins "Induction Phase" right now. Having roasted pork medallions wit shredded Mozarella cheese on top. Mmmmmm

But you're right about vegetarianism ... you can't do Atkins as a vegetarian.
Here's the new eating plan that is all the rage;
http://www.foodnsport.com/811/index.html
The Ratio for Humans … By Design
People ask me how the 80/10/10 diet can apply equally well to people of all ages, sizes, activity levels, etc. “Aren’t we all individuals, with different nutritional requirements and different bodily makeups?” they ask.
Despite all the hype about metabolic typing, I do not believe this ratio varies to any appreciable degree on the basis of our individual needs. (See the sidebar entitled “What about individual differences?” on page 242.)
Like high-performance race cars, the human body is designed to get its best results from a very specific fuel mixture. Think about it: can you find any example in nature of a mammalian species
whose individual members eat foods from completely different categories, based upon their blood type, their geographical location, their metabolic type, or any other factor? Can you imagine a “kapha” bear eating more fat than a “pitta” bear? Or a “fast-oxidizing”monkey avoiding bananas because they are too high in sugar? This is nonsense.
Don't let anyone tell you that humans are the one exception in the animal kingdom.
The fact is, Nature has seen fit to provide the ideal food for every creature on Earth, and all creatures of similar type eat similarly. For example, horses—and all creatures that look like horses (zebras, donkeys, mules)—eat from essentially the same category of foods—those for which their biological systems were designed. Do not let anyone tell you that humans are the one exception to this rule (called the law of similars) in all of the animal kingdom, for there are no exceptions: animals that are anatomically and physiologically similar thrive on similar foods. Cows eat grass, leopards eat meat, and hummingbirds eat nectar. There is simply no need to complicate this simple program, presented in perfection by nature in thousands of examples.
All of the creatures that are anatomically and physiologically like us (known as the anthropoid primates: gorillas, orangutans, chimpanzees, and bonobos) thrive on a low-fat diet that is predominated by fruits and vegetables. Their caloronutrient ratios closely approximate 80/10/10. With the exception of the gorilla, whose great weight makes it almost impossible to climb the skinny branches of trees to procure fruit, they get more than 80% of their calories from the carbohydrates in fruit. The combined caloronutrient average for chimpanzees, bonobos, and orangutans is about 88/7/5. Add in the gorilla’s numbers, which come closer to 70% carbohydrate, and the average decreases, making the ratio almost exactly 80/10/10 for all of our anthropoid relatives.
The actual foods humans eat differ according to season, geography, availability, personal preference, etc., but not according to anything pertaining to our physiology. The total number of calories each person needs varies according to many factors, including gender, size, age, activity level, fitness goals, health status, and so forth. But the ratio of carbohydrates to protein to fats we need remains relatively the same. This is true regardless of the dietary specifics, food choices, or total volume consumed. As I explain in Chapter 5, no amount of adaptation or relocation has changed the basic digestive physiology with which we have been endowed since the beginning of time.
