I am having trouble figuring out how to burn DVD's on my desktop. I have the dual DVD drives, I want to burn Jumper, so one of my buddies told me to download dvd shrink 3.2, which I've done. After that I guess I ran it through the shrink process, which basically compresses the format down so it will fit on a disc and decryptes the movie so you can burn it.
I believe I have it moved to my hard-drive, now I want to burn it on a disc. I bought DVD+R discs, so I don't know it that is my problem(Do i need DVD R-?). Because when I go into power 2 go(came with PC) with Jumper_PS it kicks an error " Reading Disc Failed.
Anyone know what I need to do or have suggestions(I'm not buying a MAC)? Thanks for your help.

So.. if, in theory, you wanted to burn an uncopyrighted DVD... you'd confirm that the files are in fact burned to your hard drive by clicking the files and opening them. (Once you're sure you know what you're doing, you wont have to do this step. But it doesn't hurt to confirm it the first time.)
Once you do that, you should have an option in your DVD burning software to make a DVD movie and you just throw the folders in there. It's very simple.
As for the + or - issue, it depends on what kind of DVD burner you have. It should say it on the face of your DVD burning drive, on the tray.

It will decode the DVD so you can copy it to your computer. It is free for the first 21 days.

Choose "data" as your type of disc to burn. Then, inside the Jumper_PS file there should be 2 folders "VIDEO_TS" and "AUDIO_TS" choose these 2 folders as the data to burn onto your disc (There may only be a "VIDEO_TS" folder, if so choose just that). Burn the disc. Voila.

Okay so I picked DATA, added the two files VIDEO_TS" and "AUDIO_TS. And Burned them onto the blank DVD. I still don't think I have a DVD that I can go watch, these are files that don't open like a normal DVD movie would. That isn't working..arrrrggggghh

The Video_TS files should be all you need. The only difference, I believe, if you do video DVD rather than data is it makes the file structure for you. It should work as long as you have those files on your DVD and the disc is finalized. Oh, and your actual DVD player has to be able to play it which shouldn't be an issue unless you have a very old one.

I always rip the DVD with DVD Decrypter, use Shrink if needed and then burn with ImgBurn (all free apps)
One guide (http://www.wikihow.com/Rip-a-DVD) (there are many)

I use DVD Shrink to burn the DVD also, after you read the disk in and it creates the files on your hard drive, there is an option to burn a DVD, click Backup, and just select the DVD drive to burn it too.

The only issue with burning straight from DVD Shrink is that it has to burn with Nero. The guy said he wanted to burn with the program he has on his machine.

I'm taking down all of your names. Not to turn you in, but to consult with you next month when the pre-season games start. No NFL Network anymore, so I'm goona have to seed the torrents and burn them to DVD.
I know, I know ... it should be easy. But I have this feeling there might be a monkey wrench or two just when I'm jonesing to watch the first preseason outings. Besides, I would hate to miss Nate Jackson's six receptions this year.

I just got that movie a few days ago. It wasn't as bad watching at home as the movie theatre but it was still nauseating at times.

I use DVD Shrink to rip (backup) my movies onto the hard drive as VOB files, and DVD Decrypter to burn them. Both programs are free. As already stated in this post its a good idea to use AnyDVD running in the background. This program will break the encryption on almost all movies and is available as a free trial.
If you want an easy to use program for the complete novice, Slysoft also makes a program called CloneDVD which is an all-in-one ripping/burning program (very easy to use). If you go the Shrink/Decrypter route I have a detailed word document which instructs you on setting up both programs for optimal settings. You can PM me your email address and I'll send it to you.
