The high gas prices you pay or the knowledge that Big oil is making record profits?

Where is the "all of the above" option?
Maximus

Neither... What angers me more is how dumb Americans are about the conspiracy surrounding the amount of supply that is currently available. Hummm 35 years since the Oil Embargo and cars are still getting virtually the same MPG??? add 1 or 2 MPG to the standards in 1973 for 35 years and this would be a non-issue!
In 1973 the average MPG was 13.3 I would love to get 48.3 MPG!

If I added that option it would be a blowout. Thats why it was titled what angers you more?

That would be ALL OF THE ABOVE. I don't think American people are that stupid as much as things are that complicated and the press is allowed to lie without any consequences. A FREE PRESS is where our real freedoms come from. If you read some of things that the overseas press prints it's pretty sad to see better journalists abroad talking about OUR issues. This would exclude Al Jezeera and some of the Euro centric press. I am talking about the guys who just talk about the clear cut facts that the average American has to dig through five different news sources to figure out. We have created a culture of news junkies always searching for the truth. A modern day X Files saga spider webbing into everything. There is no conspiracy. Just follow the money.

I'd have to agree with Maximus as well. For me to get "angry" about their profits I would have to see their books.

Why would you need to "see their books" when their profits make headlines every quarter and the execs admit they are swimming in so much surplus cash that they have no idea what to do with it?
Who do you think is making all this money? Could it be the same people that made all that money with the housing bubble or the same people that made all that money in the sky rocketing health care costs or all the people that made all that money from the Iraq war. It's the same people folks. When will you wake up, when you are naked, sick and homeless?

Well, I saw a news report the other week that a good deal of their profits come from various R&D groups. Now they could be cooking their books, but I have no proof of that. Ergo, I would need to see their books for myself and do my own audit.

between those two options? I dunno. I'm just glad both my vehicles are paid off so I don't have a car note on top of the gas prices... I feel sorry for those that do

Bingo I have not had a car payment in years. I do however have a "daddy needs a new truck" fund that I stick $ into. Once I have enough I go pay cash.

I cut my gas consumption about 75% three months ago .... I moved downtown.
Don't hate me, though ... I pay $115 a month to park :(
**EDIT** $115 not 165

Good point, the thing though....is...automobile manufacturers especially domestic ones are the ones losing out the most.
That leads to the question if whether or not they are being forced to their own doom or is it part of the plan?
decades and no advancement in fuel economy.

Thankfully I can deal with the monthly car note.
Imagine owning an American Tank at 9/19MPG and a Six hundred dollar monthly payment!!!

I'm angry that Congress seems incapable of taking any steps to ease the situation, only to make it worse.
Drill in ANWR? NO, they scream.
Drill off the Atlantic and Pacific coasts? NO, they scream?
Build new refineries? NO WAY
Build nuclear plants? NO NO NO - Don't you remember that Jane Fonda movie? We'd all die!
Remember - the opposite of progress is Congress.
Democrats want the price of gas as high as possible until after the elections and their obstructionism is obvious. Their solution? More taxes!!! Yeah, like that will bring prices down.

Is that what they want? Your stereotype is amusing. One thing I can say is look what we've gotten with the Republicans. Now that is fact. And don't come back with the majority in Congress is Democrat. Out of the last 7 years they have been only for 1 1/2. This did not start just 1 1/2 years ago. Why didn't the Repubs do something about it before then?

and why arent the dems doing something about it now? I remember Nancy making a campaign promise before the '06 midterms to lower gas prices.

Hilarious!
Blaming the Democrats for high gas prices?
Hello?
The Democrats just tried to pass legislation to end speculative oil pricing (which accounts for ~1/3 of the price of a barrel of oil) and your boy Bush vetoed it.
