Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall. (AP | JACK DEMPSEY)June 22nd, June 22nd. That was the date Brandon Marshall kept talking about.
What's the significance of that date? It marked the three-month anniversary of Marshall's bizarre fall through an entertainment system, the one that sent glass flying and left his right arm in a cast.
Marshall said as recently as 10 days ago, when he predicted another 100-catch season, that he hoped to be catching balls with both hands by June 22nd. But lo and behold, June 22nd was a Sunday and the only ones making any noise at Dove Valley were the resident rabbits.
Then came Monday morning, when Marshall showed up at Broncos headquarters along with several of his teammates. They didn't throw the ball around, but he lifted weights and ran, a typical Monday in mid-June.
Marshall passed on an interview request from The Post, but all signs point to him being ready by training camp in late July.

I'd like to know how much weight he's able to lift at this point compared to before the injury. It would be a good indicator how close to 100% he is.

I'm as big a skeptic as anyone, but I do recall that last year Marshall healed very very fast, and seemed willing to play through any pain. I'm guessing he's going to be fine this time.

Worthless article is more like it...it doesn't give us any more insight to his recovery than we already had. Another deadline puff piece.

Yeah. How can anyone glean anything one way or another out of this? It specifically states he's not catching the ball because they aren't throwing it. So in the words of Brett Favre at one of his press conferences last year: "No change."

I have to agree, actually. Unfortunately, this article brings no significant news.
The good news: Training camp around the corner...

Who cares if he is lifting. I want to know which hand he is wiping with these days. It would be a good indicator how close to 100% he is.
So Armstrong basically wrote a piece that consists of "HUR HUR, Marshall didn't know the 22nd was a SUNDAY!"
What a jackass. How in hell does he get paid anything to write this garbage?

Rocky mountain news reports that B-Marsh worked out this morning, but didn't give an interview. They also report that Brandon was holding a frosted strawberry pop-tart in his injuried right hand. Is this progress or habit?
Why is this news? Do a story on one of the guys that is fighting to make this team. What kind of reporters do they have there? Do a series of interviews, real interviews, with the rookies. I am tired of reading these interviews, that include questions:
What do you do in your spare time?
What are you going to do with your first check?
How are things different than college?
What is your favorite color?
These are lame, and the players give cookie cutter answers. Why not do some research on these players and ask them interesting questions?
Ask a late round pick or a UDFA; What will you do if you don't make it here or the NFL?
Ask Hillis if he has kept in touch with McFadden, and if so are they talking smack yet?
These are the kind of questions that make for interesting reads.
