Yea, the singer Nathan the Explosion actually makes an appearance on the latest Zimmer's Hole album when they cover the Dethklok tune "The Vowel Song". Never laughed so hard in my life.

Nice, I'm also one of the few who rate Seasons higher than Reign in Blood... many will scream blasphemy :sunshine:
I wouldn't rate any Megadeth album, I liked Anthrax better.
Judas Priest - Painkiller is easily among my top 5.
Top 1 would be Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime.. no contest.
I prefer Clandestine over Left Hand Path and Human over Spritual Healing.
And you put neither Pantera nor Sepultura in your top 25 ? Now that is real blasphemy Ha!
Vulgar Display of Power and Arise are in my top 5. Mastodon and Vader are excellent choices, and I'd add Bolt Thrower - War Master.
I would kick out Dimmu, even though that is a very nice record. BM just doesn't work for me.
Too lazy to compile my own list for now

Tool is more of a progressive rock band (they are good) but they wouldnt fit on this kind of list. I had a top 25 rock albums from myself ill have to try and hunt it down. Pantera would probably make my metal list but it would be more of a top 100 or something. Thats just too much work.

Emmmm, no. Technically speaking yes. I mean, personally i love all of his records but with Murphy playing on SH it was just that much more crushing for me. But albums like Symbolic, Human, and Individual Thought Patterns showcase a lot of great technical expertise. ^5

crushing wise.. Leprosy is still the best for me. But Sean's drumming on Human, and seeing it live… that made it the best Death album for me.

Oh absolutely love Machine Head.. but IMO they don't have an album that belongs in a top 25 list. Now, if The Blackening would include Imperium and Davidian.. that would be a top 5 album.
Also, as it's a album list, not group list: I just don't see Testament having a single record that could touch Painkiller in any way.
Deicide? no way in hell ;)

Yea, The New Order is probably the most solid record that Testament ever had (some may think its The Legacy) but Painkiller is just too strong of an album for Testament to even be considered ranked higher in my opinion. And Deicide's best record "Legion" wouldnt even make my top 50 and i love that record.

I don't know a lot of these either, but I can throw a few up (some of which may be laughed at ;D ):
1) Metallica - Ride the Lightning
2) Savatage - Hall of the Mountain King
3) Judas Priest - Screaming for Vengeance
4) Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime
Others that would make the list somewhere
Metal Church - The Dark
Leatherwolf (Debut)
Tesla - Mechanical Resonance
Metallica- Kill Em All
Savatage - Handful of Rain
Skid Row - Slave to the Grind
It's too hard to really rank most, a lot depends on what mood I'm in :militia:

Operation Mindcrime is so frigging fabulous.
And I'm going to see Queensr˙che this Friday.
Finally, after I missed them every time in the 90s.
They are performing a three hour set … the complete Operation Mindcrime set plus more.. well, to be honest, I care only for the first Operation Mindcrime, but it's going to be fantastic, seeing them live for the first time…

I saw Queensryche open for Metallica in San Diego, 1989-ish. Queensryche was light years better than Metallica live, at least at that show.
I'm jealous!

In the 80s I dated a girl who thought Geoff Tate was the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Me? I thought his singing style sounded like the noise you hear outside of a proctologist's office.
This guy has your annoying falsetto in spades, Hogan. ;)

I'll admit it everytime, I cannot stand castrated, falsetto vocals. I think, looking back on it, it was one of the reasons why I kinda left metal behind for hardcore around '80-'81.
