I was thinking about this today. I think Dylan Gandy could be our most underrated addition this offseason. He's a 4th year Guard out of Texas Tech who has starting experience with the Colts, including the Super Bowl.

Gandy was drafted in the 4th round out of Texas Tech, and did not allow a sack his senior year and was part of a Colts line that rarely gives up sacks ever.

If Hamilton goes down, and Kuper's playing Right Tackle, I think we'd be in great shape with this guy coming in at LG, which is the guard spot you want your best pass-protecting guard, much like LT is where you want your quickest, best pass-protecting tackle.

By all accounts this kid is a nice player and good pass blocker. If Ben goes down, which is a question for a lot of us here, I really feel good about this kid coming in and starting for us.

Thoughts?

Well, who would have thought last year that one of our best additions, among all the Dre Bly and Daniel Graham and Travis Henry talk, would have been Montrae Holland?

He's a young vet with playoff experience in a backup role - yeah, I really liked the move.

I wouldnt mind seeing him get some playin time if someone gets hurt.. he is still young gots exp. and in college no sacks his senior year. sounds nice...

Yeah. He played at Texas Tech and then went on to the Colts. Both those teams pass a lot, so I expect him to be a talented pass blocker.

I am not certain that the Broncos' coaches wouldn't start him over Hamilton. Hamilton has been a pretty good player for the Broncos, but the truth is that his concussion was horrendous, and questions about the advisability of playing him at all is open. There could be an injury settlement for Hamilton and the team moves on with a nearly completely new Oline. Nails would be the only one left.....

I agree that this guy is a bit under the radar here, but if he gels, this could be a very solid Oline for a lot of years with the rookie C (I haven't learned to spell his name, yet) playing next year.....

The Oline could surprise a lot of people, and really is the basis for my optimism for next year. That and the Dline which I think will also be improved.

Hopefully cause Hamilton is garbage. I didn't know about this move but I'm hopeful.

I expect him to add solid depth. There was a while there where our only backup was Ryan Harris.

Gandy is young, has starting experience, and can move, so he's a good pickup for the Broncos' scheme. Snell formerly played in NFL Europa.

how long do we have Montrae locked up for, he is a freaking beast...I was watching some of the NFL replay games with him leading through the holes on traps and counters..the dude can move for a big fella.

Never seen him play but I'll take your word for it -- with the exception that RG is harder because you have a lot more one-on-one matchups.

I like this signing

Been a while back, doncha know?

I don't think Hamilton was so bad. Not all-pro, but serviceable in tandem with Nails. But the injury factor is quite high with Hamilton.

Good pickup. I bet he can play ST's also. If I remember right he was kind of a salary cap cut by the Colts, and they do have cap problems, they're paying their core players a lot of money, so it wasn't like he's just a bum. Denver seems like they have some good young players on the OL, and that's sure good to have.

I inquired. but it didn't actually say much about Gandy. He may be one of those quiet, workaday guys that just wants to play ball.....

Sort of like the rookies the Broncos picked up this year. Can use one of them....
