I know we're not the important parents and mothers day is a much bigger deal, but it's past 3 PM on the east coast and a "Happy Fathers day" thread hasn't been started yet.
So to the fellow dad's out there, Happy fathers day!!! Reap what you can today and use it as an excuse, take advantage of the times with the kid(s) and have a great day!

I remember going to a church where, on every Mothers Day, the pastor would preach about what saints mothers are - so selfless, so devoted, etc. etc.
And I'd watch the women sitting in their pews with their jaws clenched as if to say "That's right, Reverend! YOU tell them!"
Then on every Fathers Day we'd get the sermon about how fathers are worthless bums who ignore their children and are lazy, mean, violent brutes, etc.
And I'd see the same women sitting there in the pews with their jaws clenched as if to say "That's right, Reverend! YOU tell them!"
Fathers today are politically incorrect, just as are hetero men in general.

Sorry, been preparing some good eats for my sons that are fathers and my dad. Love the man, one of the gentlest, unjudgmental men there are. Happy Fathers Day to all the fathers out there!
It's funny Ark, we went out to breakfast this morning and there were a bunch of families there celebrating with dad and I laughed and told my daughter I thought most of those fathers probably would have preferred to have just been left alone to do their own thing and then be waited on for dinner.

My father does not post online, so I did not think there was a reason to start a thread about it.

Happy fathers day to all.....
I have have my son over for the weekend.
I had a teary moment when he asked me if I wished my father was still alive so we could share this day together.
Considering my father passed away last year, it hit where it hurts.

I'm amazed at the good looking kids some of you ugly guys on the Mane produce. Amazing! LOL
Dad's are so important to kids, especially us females. I think dad's don't quite get the recognition because they don't spend the time with the kids like mom does, but they are just as important in a child building character, having confidence, and knowing that someone who is "larger than life" cares.

well, my dad raised me and my sis by himself since we were 7 and 8, so the hell with those that don't think fathers day means anything...he was dad AND mom. So he deserves it.

Personally, Father's Day and Mother's Day are
too Hallmark! ...everyday should be "Parents" Day!

I think we're more important(with no bias whatsoever :) ) but my comments about us not being the important parents was in comparison to how much bigger of a deal mothers day is compared to fathers day.
Nobody can love you like a mother can, nobody can whip your ass and set you straight like a father can :)

Plus moms need dads to fix things, open jars, change lightbulbs, inspect for bumps in the night. The world would be screwed without dads.

Is it the dad that scares them, or the shotgun the he is holding?

The man is suppose to go and work to support his family.
Not that a woman cant, but men are geared for that.
I think both play an equal role.

For fathers day my 12 year old son went to the Lakers game, while I stayed home and watched it on TV. Damn kid lol.
He sat next to Jim Grey and spoke to him for most of the game. Grey, like every other adult, was shocked at how much my son knew about sports. The kid and I have sports talk radio on all the time.
