Summer is here and what better way to past time until Bronco season than to play golf?
I am looking for places to purchase a new driver and irons. Any suggestions?

Also post good places to play in your area

I buy a lot of clubs on eBay. Just bought a set of new Cleveland CG2 irons, true temper 300 dynamic gold shafts this year there for $175 shipped to the house :)

I actually just started playing. I haven't played 18 yet, just messed around at the driving range. I did buy my first set of clubs. I bought some cheap Golden Bear clubs from Bass Pro here in Springfield. They're decent clubs and I can already notice an improvement every time I go out and hit a few buckets. I'm looking forward to playin my first round next week. Here's to hoping I can shoot below a 180.

I was a big golfer, learned from my grandfather who was friends with Tiger's dad.

Still have a Bobby Jones Callaway putter he gave to me, will never let go of it.

I have also bought a few clubs on ebay. I've ALWAYS liked the Clevland Drivers. Check some of those out. I have the Clevland hibore and I love it! Just make sure you look around a lot before you decide. Check prices EVERYWHERE! Good golf coarses I got 2 for you in Iowa if you're ever here:
1. Timberline Golf Coarse in Peosta, IA about 10 miles of highway 20 close to Dubuque.
2. Manchester Golf Coarse in Machester, IA. Directly between Waterloo and Dubuque right off of Highway 20. I live on this coarse and grew up playing on it... GREAT coarse.
One in Colorado:
1. Grand Lake Golf Coarse in Grand Lake Colorado. AMAZING coarse. Went there when I was on vacation because my mother use to work there many moons ago. DEF CHECK THAT OUT!

Try this. An EBAY setup for golf clubs.

My husband and sons are avid golfers... in fact "Mr. Blue" is participating in a golf tournament right now.

I do my fair share of golfing throughout the summer. My friend and I try and get out at least once or twice a week. Sometimes we will just hit up a 9 hole course right after work which is pretty good since there isn't anyone playing at that time for the most part.

I'm right around the block from the home of the 2002 and 2009 US Open: Bethpage Black

I golf a bit. Down here in Florida it's a year-round sport so it's easy to get out. In fact it's cheaper to play in the summer because all the old farts don't like the heat.

I went to Golfsmith to get a new driver recently. Not the cheapest place but they have this cool swing analysis thing that helps you figure out which club works best for you. You can even do the analysis but then get the club you liek somewhere else cheaper. If you do buy the club there though the analysis is free.

What a comeback. Tiger will admit that you need to get lucky out there to win. Doesn't hurt to be that good either. :)

My husband golfs with beer in hand sometimes, too. Ha! Me, I'm best at sitting in the cart, drinking beer, and laughing if he makes a bad shot (heckler LOL).

ebay is very good but here are three of the better places to buy new stuff at excellent deals if you don't want to deal with finding a bargain on ebay.

I like Rock Bottom Golf and Golfsmith on the internet. Another good one is:

http://tgw.com

I "play at" golf but it would be generous to call me a golfer. I just had some Cleveland CG Gold irons custom fitted to my swing at a pro shop. Shafts are an inch longer than normal with club angle 2 degrees upright. I can't tell you how much it helps my confidence actually swinging a club that has been fit to me. So I'd recommend that as interest and money permit.

How much did that cost by the way?

I went to a Roger Dunn golf shop near me. The fitting was free and the Cleveland irons were the same price as can be ordered on the internet from reputable discount dealers such as Golfsmith. Mine came customized for me from the Cleveland factory and I had them on the course less than a week after ordering them. The CG Gold irons are terrific game improvement clubs that absolutely will not sting your hands when you hit an off center shot. Good for me, cuz my game can be for crap at times.
