Good to hear, he looks like a beast with tons of potential. Is there a better set of mentors in the NFL for this guy than John Lynch and Champ Bailey?

I want to see this guy on the field. He has the look, I want to see him do something. I hope he is connected at the hip with J. Lynch, on and off the field. If John gets him right mentally, that guy has the ability.

Here's hoping he makes an impact on special teams year one.

Just by drafting more guys we should have an improved special teams unit. A lot of late rounders with a potential impact there.

Hillis next...? Both 4th round ability.

I was a fan of this kid. Glad the deal is done. He should compete with Hamza off the bat.

It's gonna be great if the Broncos get these rooks signed fast. Hopefully, Clady will be next...

The draft is so crazy ... I wanted this guy BAD. I was pimping him daily before the draft, but I was afraid he wouldn't last until the second day.

He has all the tools. I mean he looks like a beast, but plays like a marshmello. Hillis is very highly thought of.efully he can learn how to play. it seems the broncos are really high on him.

I'm suprised some of the UFAs haven't already been signed.

You don't mean Barrett, do you? Cause he lays some serious wood...

That's what makes them Undrafted Free Agents, and not draft picks.

Hillis next...? Both 4th round ability.

Exactly what I meant about the draft being strange ... both Hillis and Barett were 3rd/4th round projections.

Barrett has good size for a S. He may be bigger than that LB that left a while back: Silver? Copper? Brass? No, Gold.

I just hope he pans out.

He's wicked FAST, too ... 4.4 and better 40 times.

VERY rare size/speed/hitter combination. I'm just hoping that th line onthis guy, the reason he droped off in his senior year, was because of the new Dennis Ericksen regime.

I say we run a 5-2 rover defense with this guy.

So, what's wrong with him? 7th rounder?

His production fell off as a senior. Issues with coaches or scheme or motivation issues. Don't know which. From what I read it wasn't a talent or health issue. If he gets his head on straight I'm hopeful.

Can he cover? So far he sounds like Roy Williams. I believe in the guy, but never saw him in action.

He lost his starting job senior year, right? How good can he really be.

People were predicting he would be much higher in the draft his Junior year. He fell of his Senior year. Talent doesn't just go away so I'm of a mind that it was something in his head. He either got too confident or was unhappy with something.

If somebody can get his head on straight then he could really be something. Maybe the possibility of earning millions will be enough motivation.

Heres the deal for the 10th time with this guy.
Barrett was a leader and one of the best players/SS in the pac10 his junior year. If he came out that year, he was projeected as a 3rd/4th round player.
Erickson came in last year, and he kinda ticked off some of the leaders at ASU right off the bat. He also asked Barrett to just play out of position and basically overplayed the guy which frustrated him. Thats why he got benched. It had nothing to do with talent, but had everything to do with a coach/player disagreement. Carpenter also has issues with Erickson, and hes since apparently mellowed with Carpenter.
Heard it from players who play there.

Well now I know. Thanks.

I've avoided the previous discussions so I never read it before. They're usually ten pages long by the time I see them so I don't even bother.

If he had issues with his coaches, I don't see why other teams would have passed on him all the way to the 7th.

I'll believe this guy has something to contribute when I see it. I wouldn't expect more than special teams contributions this season.

I like Josh to beat the odds and become a solid pro but my Broncos tinted glass only see so much.

Okay. The senior year was a bust all over. Maybe he was viewed as "giving up" rather than just toughing it out. No matter, really. He's a Bronco now.....

I always thought of Erickson as being in the same mode as Turner......

A dude shouldn't lose his job in college no matter what the sheme and expect to play in the NFL. I'll be surprised if this guy makes it on the team. I hope he does but I don't think its very realistic.
