If there was any lingering doubt as to his status as a bust. Personally, I would have inked Forte before cutting Benson... if I were going to wait this long. This is a year too late IMO.

i say we take him on a 2yr deal so we can at least see what he can do in our offensive scheme. The guy can run he is just young and keeping the wrong crowd around him. We could get him for peanuts.

Shanahan won't even give him a shot.

Yeah because this has worked the last 3,000 guys that have had issues. Just say no to Flavor Clowns. The wrong crowd can follow him pretty easily.

We won't even look at him but flava clowns can pan out. I'm all for having good guys on and off the field but sometimes the talent isn't there.

Is that the same team Phillips and Williams played for?

I don't think we would be interested in Benson simply because Benson isn't much of a receiving threat and he's never been a cut-back runner. In other words, even if he was a model citizen, his running style is not cut out for this offense.

he really didnt prove himself to even be all that talented in chicago. only thing he had was the contract and draft pick on his resume.

If Shanahan gives this clown a contract it should be grounds for immediate dismissal.

There is no way we bring him in. I just don't see it happening.

And would be really annoyed with the guy making the decisions if we did.

But my money is that he won't get another job in the league right away.

Maybe after the season has started and someone goes down, maybe not in 2008.

I can't think of very many teams that would be desperate enough to take him on board with all his issues.

If I eat another donut it will be grounds for an immediate heart attack. Oh, and I smell like BO and moldy cheetos too, but my D&D friends don't care.

Ain't that the friggin truth.

This is what happens to some players when they get rich with that first contract. Impossible to control, unwilling to put the time in to reach potential. They aren't hungry anymore.

Or he was a douche from day one.

Crying on draft day with Suzy Kolber because he slid to the 5th pick because of Ricky. "Boohoo! I'm not Ricky! Wahhh!"

Guess what? You're not Ricky ****ing Williams! Ricky Williams can at least play football.

Then this choad turns around and holds out from the team that took a shot on him? This pole-smoker was a jerk-off from long before he inked his fairy little name.

I don't disagree, but once you get that kind of money, you are no longer reliant on anything. When that happens, all of you worst personality traits get magnified. Imagine if you got 20 million dollars today. I would be a good guy, put I would mess with people(maybe whole cities) full-time.

Imagine if you thought you were the #1 pick... and your agent and media were hyping you as tops all year long.

And then the day comes and people are scared you'll be a pot-smoking hippy like your hero so you lose 15 million in guaranteed money, but then a team takes a chance on you and you're actually moved to TEARS(LITERALLY!).

...then you hold out when they're offering you the money you actually deserve?

**** him. They should've made him sit and re-enter in 06.

****ing Aaron Rogers slid WAY farther than Benson and lost much more money. Did he cry? No!

He made funny smiles and shrugs to the camera and has been a patient and QUIET back-up in Green Bay.

Edit: I despise Green Bay with almost Raider like passion... but I can't think of a non-Bronco that I'm pulling for more than Rogers.

That is not the way most people, especially athletes, think! There was nothing wrong with him, it was someone else that was the problem. These guys have so many people blowing smoke up their ass for so many years, they actually believe the hype. Schools give these kids special privledges, and that just furthers their sense of entitlement.

Don't get me wrong, this is all on Benson, but you have to see how easy it is to choose the wrong path in that situation.

I'm not much of a Rogers fan either, but I think he is a class guy. If he can succeed in Favre's shadow, good for him. If he fails, another bites the dust.

Why are we even referring to Benson as a "slide" in the 2005 draft ?!? He was picked 4th overall !! That's not sliding.......

And as far as him crying.....I always inferred that he was just emotional/happy to be in the NFL.....ala Vernon Davis.

YES! I pull for him as well! Great attitude from the guy. I LOVED when he told them in GB that he isnt Brett, and hes not trying to be Brett. Similiar to Cutler in Den with the Elway crap. They both handled it with mature composure. I like that.
You know what else is great is Matt Forte is going to be a BEAST for CHI. I wanted that guy SOOOOO damn bad, in DEN.
On a side note, BOTH Forte and Torain are basically the same style of runner. Tough, bruisers that can take a hit and keep on truckin. So it isnt the end of the world that Forte went to CHI, but jeez i knew the writing was on the wall for this @$$clown Benson when Forte went in the 2nd.
No more @$$clowns in DEN. PERIOD!
