I love how these morons rank RBs who have never played one NFL game above guys who have proven productivity in the NFL.

Deuce McCalister(sp?) is a perfect example. How can he be ranked lower than McFadden?

What was Terrell Davis Ranked I wonder?

And you all called me a homer when I said Michael Turner was better than T Henry.

Quite possibly the worst list ever, even for ESPN.

"23. Darren McFadden, Oakland Raiders -- Easily the best football player in the 2008 draft."

Only #23? This author is high!

Not all of us. What I couldn't believe is some thought he was better than McGahee (sp?), when the latter totally outplayed TH in the same team in his first yr of actual playing.

I think Young should be rated in the bottom 20 all things considered. If he remains healthy (which is a big question mark) as a featured back he has the potential to put up numbers that rival the top 10 (especially in Denver. My main issue is that they placed Tatum ahead of Young, and the latter looked substantially better as a full package than Tatum. Also, TH did not look that much better than Young (arguably Young looked better from the perspective of vision and production). As a full package I think Young can be substantially better than TH, with a HUGE CAVEAT. He must stay healthy.

Michael Turner is what really makes this list laughable for me. The paragraph descriptions between he and Selvin are nearly identical. "North south runner, not real elusive... pass protection concerns... never been feature back..."

Selvin averaged 5.2 yards per carry last year. Turner 4.5.

Turner is ranked 16, Selvin 60. Way to go ESPiN.

Once again some of you are underestimating the absolute stupidity of E!SPN.
I for 1, love these "rankings" cause it just gives a guy like Selvin that much more steam to go for 2 grand.

Ranking Jackson and Westbrook ahead of LJ is a little dumb.

Ranking LJ anywhere near the top 5 is moronic after last yr. He stank the games he played, and then got injured like many predicted. Until he proves he still has game (and that means more than a couple of 100 yd games), he has no business being in the top 10.

2nd. jackson is my favorite running back in the game, and westbrook has been the staple of that offense forever.

Do you think Brian Westbrook or Steven Jackson could have put up three 100-yard performances out of 8 games last season behind KC's awful line (three members of which have been trashed) while the plays were being called by a crap OC hamstrung by a conservative head coach?

Me neither.

I'd take Westbrook any day over Larry Johnson.

And we'll still out rush two thirds of the league.
