The WSOP starts in 8 days. Any predictions?

You guys hear what they are doing to the ME? (moving the FT to November?)

yes i read that on the cardplayer magazine website. Seems odd to wait that long but it is all about the $. Seems unfair that the other players can get a read on you based on what they saw on tv from espn. I dont predict any winners because it has been a bunch of amateurs that have come away with the prize.

so the rumor is that Phil Ivey has $2MM on the Lakers to win

Then he better win his prop bets of winning a bracelet because my team is down 2 games to 0. I think two major pros have won bracelets so far. HORSE will get another imo.

I think a lot of the pros will come on strong this year. Andy Bloch is due also..hes been at (I think) like 3 final tables already

A local guy here in KC won event #2. He won the final hand like this: AK to 10 4 and flopped 10 10 4. Just to make sure the other guy knew he lost, a 10 came on the turn to give him quads.

Figured this would be the year of the pros..Mike Mattasow got his 3rd in the $5K 2-7 Triple Draw event.. Daniel Negraneu got his 4th in the $2K Limit Hold 'em evern

Ivey had a stomach-churning week. He lost $1.1 million shooting dice with Barry Greenstien. He's on the verge of losing $2 million on the Lakers. He just coughed up 200K to Negreanu. He also recently made a bet with Ted Forrest for $1 million who will win a bracelet first. I heard rumors that Ivey had up to $2 million in various bracelet prop bets including one that either himself or Allen Cunningham will win a bracelet

He needs to come in first place just to break even. Daniel gets his bracelet so pressure is on big time. I saw he was still around in the HORSE tourney but much more play to be had. He is in toruble IMO.

ok..going to Vegas tomorrow. I couldnt not go out there for the WSOP

just got back on Wednesday. Entered the HORSE tourney at the Golden Nugget and fell short by placing 49th out of 161. Actually pretty good as I was never above 8500 chips when we start with 5000. I didnt make it over to the RIO for the freebie and such but maybe next year. GOOD LUCK!

Well, pretty much lost my ass in Vegas. Funny story though we were playing BJ at Bill's (used to be Barbary Coast) and Tito Ortiz and Jenna Jameson walk up and start playing at the next table. I leaned over and said 'love your work Jenna' my wife proceeded to punch me.. boy that chick (jenna) needs a cheeseburger.

stupid question, but who won last year's, I was watching it recently on ESPN, but missed the final table.

Jerry Yang from San Diego won it through a $200 satellite at Pechanga Indian Casino. I have not heard his name this year and he did participate in the main event and got knocked out in Day2 of the 2nd group. He has been doing some charity work with the money he won. Maybe a hit n run with him.

The jury is still out on Yang..I think 2002 winner Robert Varkoni is even a bigger bust. At least ****head Gold has some other wins to his name

So one of the locals from Blackhawk who won his seat at the Gilpin is still in...Day 6 89 people left. Jackass Helmuth is unfortunately still in

Im happy Hellmuth is still there. Makes it interesting and going for 12 bracelets in this type of field is amazing. Now if he can only get a bracelet that isnt NL Holdem woud be something.

He may be good, but I cant stand his BS anymore.

He's an arogant prick too. I was watching last night and one dude who's pretty ****ing cool is Gus Hansen, pretty quiet and collected at all times.

Based off the current standings, I'd bet on Montgomery to win it all.

Seat 9: Peter Eastgate - 18,375,000 Wins.

ESPN sucks ass. Worst coverage ever. Didnt even show Kelly Kim 8 place bust. I thought the WPT coverage was bad..**** ESPN

12:55am... Longest Final Table.... Ever!

Jack Effel made an announcement that this final table is now the longest final table in history of the WSOP. The 2005 main event that Joe Hachem won lasted 14 hours and 2 minutes. This one has surpassed that mark.

and we saw how many hands?

I didnt get too excited about this year's players. Best was Moneymaker and has had decent runs since up to Matasow last year and of course this year. Gold was exciting play as you just yell at the tv and wonder how he can call it and how he would hit it.
UPDATE on my play: not too much live action as i am broke but once I hit 20 million in free chips on pokerstars, I signed up my wife (on paper) and started back up from 300 and play with the Donkeys. after a few weeks of winning and getting up to 19k, they sent me $5 free. A ton of SNG $1.10 and a few random cash games of pennies has got my bankroll up to $60. Just got $12 in my move up to $3 SNG with HORSE. 8 game, limit HE and HORSE has been the money maker for me. At these low levels, not too many players know all the games very well and you just pick them apart. My goal is to be able to play $5 tables around Christmas but bankroll needs to be probably $125 to $150 by then to play it safe. AK, isnt your wife still playing the $50 she deposited in Full Tilt years ago?

ak1971

Yeah she deposited $50 on bodog at the end of 06 and hasnt deposited since. playing 6 handed $12 sngs
