I'll give anyone 10-1 odds on whatever amount they want to wager that Gore won't do it.
http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/show/208338,czech-president-klaus-ready-to-debate-gore-on-climate-change.html
Washington - Czech President Vaclav Klaus said Tuesday he is ready to debate Al Gore about global warming, as he presented the English version of his latest book that argues environmentalism poses a threat to basic human freedoms. "I many times tried to talk to have a public exchange of views with him, and he's not too much willing to make such a conversation," Klaus said. "So I'm ready to do it."
Klaus was speaking a the National Press Building in Washington to present his new book, Blue Planet in Green Shackles - What Is Endangered: Climate or Freedom?, before meeting with Vice President Dick Cheney Wednesday.
"My answer is it is our freedom and, I might add, and our prosperity," he said.
Gore a former US vice president who has become a leading international voice in the cause against global warming, was co-winner of this year's Nobel Peace Prize. Gore's effort was highlighted by his Oscar winning documentary film An Inconvienent Truth.
Klaus, an economist, said he opposed the "climate alarmism" perpetuated by environmentalism trying to impose their ideals, comparing it to the decades of communist rule he experienced growing up in Soviet-dominated Czechoslovakia.
"Like their (communist) predecessors, they will be certain that they have the right to sacrifice man and his freedom to make their idea reality," he said.
"In the past, it was in the name of the Marxists or of the proletariat - this time, in the name of the planet," he added.
Klaus said a free market should be used to address environmental concerns and said he oppposed as unrealistic regulations or greenhouse gas capping systems designed to reduce the impact of climate change.
"It could be even true that we are now at a stage where mere facts, reason and truths are powerless in the face of the global warming propaganda," he said.
Klaus alleged that the global warming was being championed by scientists and other environmentalists whose careers and funding requires selling the public on global warming.
"It is in the hands of climatologists and other related scientists who are highly motivated to look in one direction only," Klaus said.

Gore would need a teleprompter or script if he were to do so...hard to use in a debate. Gore is a politician, using global warming as his stage to increase his political influence.
Klaus does a better job articulating his words in his second language (English) than I see most people do in their first language.
I'd love to see Al get smacked around just for once...but oh well...he won't debate anyone...there's too much money for him to make as long as the GW scare continues.

I'd like to see Gore do it. Personally I think those who argue against global warming have some valid points, and Gore's lifestyle makes me question how seriously he takes global warming.
Lets get them together and have them go at it. Lets see who knows what they are talking about.

...environmentalism poses a threat to basic human freedoms.
Ha ha ha!
Yep - nothing like clean air and clean water to restrict human freedom. The polluted, toxic kind is much more conducive to freedom - everyone knows that.
This idiot's argument is almost as funny as the oil company shills who try to blame environmentalists for energy supply problems.

How the **** is this not freedom restricting?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1021983/Every-adult-Britain-forced-carry-carbon-ration-cards-say-MPs.html
HOW THE SCHEME WOULD WORK
Every adult in the UK would be given an annual carbon dioxide allowance in kgs and a special carbon card.
The scheme would cover road fuel, flights and energy bills.
Every time someone paid for road fuel, flights or energy, their carbon account would be docked.
A litre of petrol would use up 2.3kg in carbon, while every 1.3 miles of airline flight would use another 1kg.
When paying for petrol, the card would need to swiped at the till. It would be a legal offence to buy petrol without using a card.
When paying online, or by direct debit, the carbon account would be debited directly.
Anyone who doesn't use up their credits in a year can sell them to someone who wants more credits. Trading would be done through specialist companies.
You think this is far fetched? Its the simple cap n trade that the neocon McCain wants to impose. AND HE'S THE CONSERVATIVE! All this idea is is the cap n trade philosophy that enters the regular folks lives rather than big companies. God, then the people on your side...thats not enough for you guys...hell YOU PEOPLE WANT TO TAKE IT ALL OVER!http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_052308/content/01125107.member.html
Then your governer wants to governers on peoples thermostats?
And the shlt about it is is that these ideas have nothing to do with the environment, and everything to do with control. Anyone can see that. Its the new communism. So **** you and all your environmental bullshlt. Now excuse me while I go burn a tire.

I just get frustrated man. Try to debate whats actually going on, maybe raise questions about the motives of these people and their movement and its "Oh wow, you hate clean air and clean water!"
No, but use a little common sense about dealing with it. Rather than punish and penalize people, maybe offer incentives, maybe tax incentives to people and companies for choosing a healthier, cleaner lifestyle? But thats just, that just can't be done. Global warming god damnit. Global warming global warming gonna kill us. Didn't you see inconvenient truth? Or the day after tomorrow? The more I hear about it the more I start to believe its all a ****ing ruse. But then again Im a mule at heart. You try to pull me one way and Ill pull the other.

There is definitely climate change going on, but I'm not at all convinced that it's because of CO2 emissions and most scientists would agree that it hasn't been proven this is the cause yet.

I take what Klaus said seriously to the point that he lived under communism...he knows their lies, and what it does to society. This carbon card is another way to control the masses...it's utter insanity, and I can't believe there are people out there that actually believe this crap.
I don't deny there has been some climate change, but to the point that the evel humans have caused it all? No.

The problem with climate studies is we haven't been measuring long enough yet to make a better conclusion or inference on the results. Is there climate change? Sure. The climate isn't static, but right now there is more that we don't know than we do know. Doesn't mean we shouldn't alter are methodology for energy. I have also heard various TV sources say the worlds temperature has dropped this year. It's hard to know what to believe. Of that, I am certain.

That's what I mean...there are so many "we do not knows" that to blame humans for the demise of an ice cube in the North Pole is crazy. To think we can control the climate, or "reverse" global warming is so laughable. We aren't that powerful.
I've also heard that we just had one of the coldest winters to date. Although, it seems, no matter what the weather does, gets colder, gets warmer, lots of rain, lots of snow, tornados, you name it....it's blamed on GW. How convenient.
I guess it depends whos "facts" you are referring to.
The facts are what they are. What the denialists peddle aren't facts - they're cherry-picked pieces of data carefully stripped of any real meaning.
I've looked at the "facts", and it has not convinced me that we are screwed, to put it bluntly.
You don't know enough to make a judgement.

What's happened and is happening in the Arctic is a bit more than the "demise of an ice cube".
To think we can control the climate, or "reverse" global warming is so laughable. We aren't that powerful.
Power and control aren't necessary to effect change.
