Mike McCarthy has left Farve's locker intact and untouched.
When asked about it, Rogers said "what can I do about it".
Its about the worst thing I think the Packers can do at this point.

You guys think Griese had it bad, just wait. Rodgers has no shot in Green Bay regardless of what he might do. I don't expect the fans to move on easily because Favre was such a big part of that town, but at some point the organization has to.

Not only are the fans never going to be satisfied with what Rodgers does, the organization continues to cling to hope that Favre will come back. I don't envy being that guy at all...

getting drafted by the packers was a curse for this kid....if he comes in and plays well it will help, but he won't shed the shadow of farve..ever

Favre is a cult over there. Not that Elway wasn't worshiped here, but its worse over there. They loved him no matter what he did. Even when he was chucking the ball in the air vertically thirty feet while getting sacked only to have it picked off, they worshiped his every move. Rogers will have a hard time but the fans do support any player that wears a Packer's uniform so it won't be so bad.

Kaylore pretty much took the words right out of my mouth. Wisconsin fans are pretty reasonable and although Favre was and still is God to them, if Rogers does well they will be right behind him. No doubt about it.
People might not think about it, but a good part of Favre's legacy will be the fans of Green Bay.

NFC North fans are very loyal, except in Detroit! It's about the Pistons and Wolverines.

How about this: the Packers win the superbowl this year with Rodgers under center.
What would the fans think?

Then they'll be ecstatic. Duh.
I think the kid has pretty rough, and this isn't helping.

Sherman is the head coach at Texas A&M now I think. I know if I were Rodgers I wouldn't like it. Make it easier on him and clean it out.

Khan is right. It's like Jonestown over there. The guy can do no wrong. He comes out as being a "recovering" alcholic and gets praised. He tells everyone about his addiction to pain medication and is commended for his bravery. If the guy robbed a bank in Madison he would be dubbed the new "Robin Hood". The guy is untouchable. Rodgers is an ok QB, but will always have a ghost over his shoulder. Impossible situation for him.

WRONG! It's all about the Red Wings.

If I were Aaron, I wouldn't be as worried about Favre's locker as I was about the team drafting two more capable QB's this year.
That might make him soil his britches a little...

if this were true, the wings wouldn't have trouble selling out playoff games

What I found weird about them not selling out the Joe is that on espn.com last saturday the poll question was which detroit sporting event would you most want to attend tonight? Game 3 Pistons-Celtics, the Tigers game, or Game 1 Red Wings-Penguins.
Majority of the state of Michigan said Red Wings game over the Pistons-celtics series.

While I certainly understand what everyone here is saying I for one dont feel an ounce of pitty for Aaron. The dude has gotten front row seats to the NFL and a nice paycheck. Its not exactly a ruff life hes living.

It's the same situation there as it was with Griese here. Don't forget that everyone loved Griese right up until he threw the pick that TD got hurt on making the tackle.
When Griese went to the Probowl, everyone thought he was gonna be it. And we all turned him like a rabid dog not long after.
It will be the same in GB. They will tolerate him and even cheer him when he plays well, but every little mistake will be magnified and then he will be compared to Farve and ripped apart. The poor kid has no chance in GB imo.
The fact they won't take Farve's locker down is just the begining for the poor kid.

Yeah but, he has never had chance to showcase what he can do.
Now that he does, here is this thing hanging over his head.

Hell even Bear fans became Packer fans in the mid to late 90's. Even the 20% of the Bear fans that don't care if they go 2-14 as long as the 2 are against the Pack harbored no hate for Brent and the Pack.
That made it even more sweet when Elway beat down Brent on one of his bad days. I close my eyes and see gilbert Brown being run into the ground.

Let me see if i understand this correctly... You are saying Favre was a bad guy for coming out publicly about his alcohol and prescription drug addiction? The guy didn't get all messed up and beat his wife. He didn't get smashed and start driving around getting DUI's. He didn't get into ANY trouble, as a matter of fact. This was a private issue that few outside of the team and his family knew about. He realized he had a problem and when he didn't have to, he told the world about it. He then went into a rehab facility for a month and a half and that was it. Over. He wasn't "commended for his addiction", he was commended for his honesty. Then the fans supported him. The key here is that when he said he was done, he was done. He never had any slip ups. Never had to give the Brandon Marshall speech.
Now, if you want to say that Favre could have been a little more decisive about his retirement in those final few years, i would agree with that. Until that last incredible year the Packers had, i would even say he overstayed his welcome a little. But that's really the only knock on him. And for what it's worth, many players do the same thing, they just aren't as good as him or as popular amongst the fans so it doesn't get magnified to his degree. Not every quarterback can go out like Elway ;)
The NFL would be very lucky to have more players like Brett Favre, talented or not.
