just thought some of you would appreciate knowing that some of the young players seem to be bonding well and having fun together.

yesterday at a local bowling alley some of the younger players were bowling together and having a good time.
selvin young, jarvis moss, tim crowder, marcus thomas, ryan harris, etc.

a good MIX of offense and defense out around town having a good time together. yea, theyre all young guys, but you kinda expect to see the young guys stick together.
anyway, it just seemed like a good sign to me to see guys playing different positions (on different sides of the field) out together having some good clean fun.
hopefully it'll carry onto the field this season.

Thats cool. Friendship and unity is vital on any team. Maybe it was 2007 draft class party or something?

the cool thing (for me) was that they were just some regular guys out having a good time.
all friendly (to the few people who recognized them and approached them), gracious, and seemingly happy.
i think the fact that they were mostly second year guys (there were a couple rooks there too) was just a coincidence, and likely a sign that these young guys actually enjoy each others company.

as someone who's witnessed first hand the division that can happen within a team, its nice to see so many young players out together acting responsible and having a good time, and again, maybe it'll translate into some unity and success ON the field. time will tell.

I sometimes wonder if it is a coincidence or if there is a reason that the Broncos have been drafting players / signing rookie free agents that are teammates recently:

Paymah / Abdullah
Young / Crowder
Moss / Harris / Thomas
Torain / Barret
Royal / Powell

If Marshall were there, they'd have to count his fingers after he bowled to make sure he didn't throw a finger down the alley....

I think thats a great point, and i DONT think its coincidence.
two of these groups got together (with a couple other guys) and had a nice day out together.
that HAS to be good bonding, and now you have a group of SEVEN OR EIGHT guys that can lean on eachother, spend time together, develop team unity, etc.
its good to see, especially considering ive seen (and heard of) so many guys in the past that were isolated and lonely, and its hard to see that NOT having a potential affect on the field.

the bottom line is its human nature to go that extra mile for your brothers.
there is a reason these guys keep their strong ties with their colleges, but often DONT have that same allegiance to their professional team.
the truly SPECIAL professional teams (including our own '96-'98 broncos) develop a bond that wont break and play for eathother above all else.

here's to hoping we can get that back here in denver.

Did we get another Harris or did you throw the Notre Dame one in with the Florida boys?

Steven Harris was an undrafted free agent last year out of Florida. Defensive Tackle on the same line with Moss and Thomas (pre suspension).

There is no way that's a coincidence, it happens too often. Even in the short term, early development of the players, a player will sleep better at training camp if they have a college teammate looking out for him. Rookies can get freaked out, Terrel Davis tryed to book a flight out of Tokyo.

i think it makes the transition to the "Bigs" better for both. A "support group" of sorts.

I bet the FO has fun drafting with this in mind. Its one more variable they use that most teams don't.
