Ive been pumping Eddie Royal the last few weeks as both a WR and a ST player. I didnt think we would actually take him but im more than happy with him as i feel he will satisfy our needs in those areas. And for Clady, well he is a OT that may need some work but he was the most highly touted tackle in the draft so im quite pleased there also. Lets hope that Day 2 turns out just as well. ;D

Anubis has certified Eddie Royal, now we know how great he will be.........
We should easily beat the chargers now with this addition............

I sure hope you're right, Anubis. The Clady pick is growing on me. I preferred Chris Williams, but I like Clady's aggressiveness. Hell, he threw the seal on that Statue of Liberty against Oklahoma so that gave me the warm fuzzies. ;D
Who knows? Maybe Royal is the next Steve Smith. That would be nice. There really wasn't a top notch DT on the board around that #42 pick. I was rooting for Ray Rice or Desean. Like the Zen master said, "We'll see."

Wolf, you're so hell-bent on the Broncos flops at WR - Shepard, Lelie, Nash, etc. But, Marshall worked out so far, didn't he? It's a new day. I was very surprised by the pick and initially thought that we should have went with Conner or Laws.
After reading up on the guy and watching his highlights, he still may be a bust, but I do understand what they saw in him to take him at #42. The guy hasn't even suited up yet. Right now, he is not a bust. He has 0 career fumbles, 0 dropped passes, and 0 starts. We'll have plenty of time to call him a bust, but I do find myself liking this pick more and more. At least give him a chance to prove himself or fail.

Well, i would of preferred Albert. But im estatic that we addressed the Oline instead of being tempted with a RB. Im also glad we took a WR who has ST abilities. Sure, both Jackson's could of fit that bill but i think Royal is equally as good. I have a feeling that we are going to see some more needs met tomorrow (today) and may be what we need to get back on track. I think we will grab some RB tomorrow but we will see.

The only thing wolf should be awarded is a filter for his gene pool.

I have bad feeling that Clady will be a bust - may be Foster is making me gun shy. He seems like an elite athlete but lets see how that translates onto the football field.
Royal seems like a reach and disturbingly similar to Hixon/watts. Personally I feel that Ray Rice, Connor, Forte, Pollack would have helped us more. Heres hoping I am wrong.

I dont know, there were a couple in the chatroom earlier today that were really whining about not taking Mendenhall. I thought they were really going to explode for a while there. Problem with Wolf is that any of his takes are just extremely weak and have been from the word go. Everyone knows what to expect from him so its kind of like business as usual when it comes to his "supposed" insight. Hilarious!

I know you have no biases about these picks. ;D BTW, it was great to see a couple of Buffs (Dizon and Wheatley) go off the board in the second. As far as the STs go, maybe the problem isn't the lack of players. Hixon seems to have done real well since leaving. Royal strikes me as something of a reach at 42, but hey, he's a Bronco now, so I'm going to hope for the best. I'm sure Shanahan is as well. I don't think even Bowlen's patience would put up with another crappy draft.

I think both those guys will be players. I been arguing for awhile that Dizon would go in the first three rounds. Go Buffs!

Actually, its kind of funny about Albert because before the last 3 weeks i hadnt really thought about him too much. But i was glad to see two Cavs go in the first. Definitely made my day in that regard. Personally, i was kind of hoping Dizon would of lasted till tomorrow for us but its good to see they are getting some love.

I haven't seen him play , but I like his speed, His strength and the fact that he is a great returner. I don't think any WR Denver would have drafted could give the team more this year than Royal. His special teams will keep him playing while he learns behind a very deep set of WR the Broncos have.

he's not really similar to watts or hixon. Your reservations are really based on nothing except unwarranted fear

Just watched NFL Network out-take on Eddie Royal.
Holy Feaking Schtuff! That guy has a smooth motion, and is a no-kiddin speedster. It looked better than DeSaun Jackson's cameo, where he lookst to be working harder to move as fast as a guy that aint skinny and looks like a stud.
Royal may well be a defining aquisition for the Front Office sans Ted.
We Shall see.

Yep
No matter if you love or hate these picks it comes down to what they do or don't do on the field. If they help us in their role we step forward if not we have taken a step back time will tell in a few years no need for fans to panic now.

If you hire a screwdriver for the job of a hammer you have not drafted well. People get upset sometimes for the wrong reasons. We don't need every good player that we pass on.

I wanted Ray Rice too...my two personal fav players, Flaco and Rice went to the Ravens. I think I'm gonna jump ship... lol
I like the Clady pick and I'm kinda confused about the Royal pick. Are we expecting Darrell Jackson, Colbert, and MArshall to suck next year?

Howdy Folks,
Been out of touch for a bit. Just a quick note on Royal. I watched that kid kill Georgia Tech in person a couple of years in a row. Both as a receiver and on returns. I think the fact he will contribute in the return game from day 1, plus the impact he could make for us as the fourth or fifth wideout to stretch the field will be huge.
