Thanks for the analysis! I enjoyed it.

I'm feeling a lot better about our # 2 pick. Royal is a dangerous weapon.

thanks Req..sounds like you think Royal was a solid pick up..I was hoping we selected Limas Sweed...do you think Royal will contribute to the WR core?

I expect Royal will see lots of playing time in the slot. With the almost gurantee that Stokely will get hurt at some point he may even end up being the #3 option as the season goes on.

I was like many that said WTF at first. But then I spent the afternoon reading on him after Mediator pointed out some praise. Now I love this pick.

Royal is a dream guy for the 3rd down underneath routes. You can send marshall on a post, sheff on the seam, Jackson with an out, and then royal underneath on the drag, there will be A LOT of first downs.. I would liken our play calling with him welker in new england against zone coverage.

The most sober review I have read so far. Most people seem to want to trash all Denver's picks, and I assume they don't know what they are talking about.

I doubt many people had ever heard of Dante Hall before he started returning kicks at Mulletsville. But he was a terror on KOs and could catch a few balls now and again. If Royal is half of a Dante, the Broncos got a good pick. If he does better than that, it was a great pick. We will know much more in about 6 months.

But I agree with your comments about both picks.....

Stokeley's experience is gonna to keep him on the roster and playing. But Royal can sub in there.....

I called this last week in the draft forum, and he is exactly the type of player DEN needs right now.

Take a look at the nfldraftcountown.com mock done yesterday. Royal was the 49th selection to Philly. That doesn't mean he's the 49th best player in the draft, but Denver obviously weren't the only ones who felt he was a mid-2nd round value.

med what about sweed?

Let's just say that I won 9 different bets regarding Limas Sweed today! So many people thought for sure he was a round one guy, and even more thought he was top 5 ;D

I think Sweed was WAYYYYY Overrated by the media because he fit the Prototype everyone wants to see, except on film. He was still good value as the eighth WR taken, but he is not going to impact right away, and can not play ST's.

You are the biggest Fag I have ever seen. And to all gay men out there who may read this I apologize because people use that term to degrade you and its not right. But to me a Fag is Wolf, a fag is a guy who would slap his mom for giving him positive reinforcement.

If Wolf were getting his fag ass kicked by a raider fan I would join in and help the RAIDERs fan. Then buy the Raiders fan a beer and kick his ass some more.

Here is the deal. Clady says he took his test right after he tore his pectoral muscle and was worried about his workouts.

So I would like to see what a retake does.

No, history just says that OL has the highest average score, not a breakdown as to how high the best were compared to everyone else.

Also, its an understandable advantage. More OLs come from non-football schools, such as private and ivy league schools, than skill position players. Why that is I guess you'd have to ask a college scout, because they seem to let a lot of quality OLs from high school go to non-premium colleges. I'd bet it has something to do with the more traditional trenches/smash mouth oriented game that the ivy leagues and other smaller fringe leagues play though.

End result, you have smart OLs who went to smart schools and actually had to do well and graduate. Matt Birk, Harvard man. Tom Nalen, Boston College before it sold its academic integrity to compete on the football field. List goes on. Lot of high collegiate pedigree that would probably otherwise be in board rooms or courthouses if they weren't squatting down over a LOS getting paid very well to play a game.

wrong...look at the top OL in the league (take the Pats for example) all their OLine had scores of 30 or better. There is a direct correlation of Wonderlic scores and future success of Oline.

That being said, for every Clady (hopefully) that earns a score of potatoe, there is a Kwammie Harris who earns a high score and flops...

The Broncos scored. Clady is what they need right away. The competition we have at WR will yield three solid receivers and an impact return man.

I dunno, a small sample size to prove your point doesnt actually do so. Im not saying there isnt something there...i just cant imagine it makes much of a difference. For center...perhaps it helps, but for left tackle? Even if 13 were his true score, that doesnt mean you cant tie your own shoes.

I'm sort of worried he's stupid. You don't need to be super smart though. Often the Wonderlic is tough if you just really stink at math and numbers. it's reading comprehension that needs to be good. Hopefully Broncos smart enough to not take a guy that is a total dullard. Wonderlic is not a total indicator of how dumb someone is.

Don't get on Wolf for calling the guy a reach. It is a reach.

Is R. Clady the next G. Foster? No one knows.
It shouldn't matter though, we needed to add Depth to the O-line and we did just that, if Clady performs up to his potential, that's great, if he doesn't it's ok. Things could be much worse, Shanny could have pulled the WTF pick outta his pocket at #12, but he didn't so lets all be thankful.

Eddie Royal, the next Steve Smith or the next Josh Cribbs?
Royal was possibly a reach at 42, but he's a versatile pick. We need a return man, he can be our guy. The field position battle is key. Eddie wont be expected to come in and make an impact at receiver, since there is a slue of capable veterans on the team. With that lack of pressure, Eddie will be able to fly under the radar and turn some heads. Wise selection.

Final thought.
