Eve of the Draft.

Alright so just to make this short and sweet. We are looking two things. One is who will help improve this offense the best. Whether that would be an OT or a RB...remains to be seen. People are very tight lipped here in Dove Valley about the Draft. The Press Conference and other media reports don't really give you much insight of what they are looking into.

For one this is what the Draft board looks like at the moment and yes there is some surprises...

1. Albert
2.Chris Williams
3. Stewart
4. Ryan Clady
5. Rashard Mendenhall
6. Sedrick Ellis
7. Keith Rivers
8. Cherilus.

Now I hear the Broncos are willing to move down, they really would like to pick up that extra 3rd rounder. They feel that such a move would enable them to possibly fill the voids of the Punter and Kicker. Should be interesting @ 12 tomorrow regardless of who is available.

I believe that one originated with the Cutler torn rotator cuff... which should'nt have been before your time.

Yeah, I wonder what kind of subterfuge is on that draft board. I'd bet that Mendenhall is truly ranked above Stewart. Also, the chart is probably undervaluing Ellis and Williams.

Having Ellis on the Dline with Robertson and Thomas would be nice......

If we can get a talent like Mendenhall why would you be upset about that. Henry is not going to be around forever.

I seem to recall that Portis worked out for awhile until he went all Flavor Clown on us.

I am sorry, but i would rather see Denver draft Stewart for 2 reasons.

1) if he falls and San Diego picks him up i will literally **** my pants, because he is going to be a better backup than Michael Turner and after a year or 2 he will be the feature back and that scares the hell out of me, seeing him 2 times a season.
2) He would be the badass dominant stud workhorse RB we have been wanting in Denver for years, and you all know Shanny wants that again

What is this obsession with Jonathan Stewert? He is injured prone and would do us no good on the bench. We're better off getting Rashard Mendenhall over McFadden or Stewert.

PASS.

He has tiny hands too. A first round pick used in him would make me angry.

Does he smell like cabbage? If so, the Broncos should not draft him.

Count me on the Stewart bandwagon... For two reasons:

1. I'm a Northwest homer.
2. He's a stud.

and also

3. Who doesn't want Jon Stewart and Colbert on the same team?

Just watched a pre-draft interview with Mendenhall's mother. Good family. This kid is going to be special. It is concerning that he doesn't have a huge body of work, but he did avg 8 yards per carry as a Soph playing 2nd fiddle to Pierre. I think he is explosive, has nice feet, excellent vision, and sets up his blocks and USES them!

Branden Albert. MEAN! Probably the meanest blocker in this draft. It would be nice to have that beast on the line that hunts and destroys. He would certainly make this team better for many years to come. He is insurance for Holland or Hamilton and could replace either Kuper or Pears at LT. If he can play RT and I'm sure the Broncos have done their homework here, he would be a good pick @ 12.

Ryan Clady, perhaps the best LT in this draft. Better in pass pro than running blocking. But hey, where talking about protecting our start QB here. I think Graham can help him in the running game, and Clady can help Graham in the passing game. With Clady in the lineup Graham can actually run routes rather than helping with protection.

Chris Williams, not high on my list quite honestly. He is unpolished and some have questioned "the fire in his belly". Not quite a project, but close to one. If we like Williams, I think he is the one we can trade back for. He'll probably be available in and around pick #18-20.

Johnathon Stewart, I love his game. I will say this, he could be similar to Cedric Benson. He is faster but similar to Benson, he did his damage in a spread offense with a great running QB. I realize that Mendenhall did a lot of damage with JWill as his QB spreading things out, but he's also proved to run strong between the Ts. Stewart is a guy that could come in, get 8-10 carries a game, and return kicks at a very high level. Getting 40 yards per game rushing the ball and another 100 per game returning the ball would make him a valuable addition. Especially knowing that in the future you have a stud waiting at RB!

Right now, I have them like this:

1. Branden Albert (especially if he can play RT too.)
2. Rashard Mendenhall
3. Ryan Clady
4. John Stewart
5. Chris Williams

I'd be happy with any of these guys. Ranking them 1-5 is difficult b/c all of them adds value. I think Mendenhall can be a team captain type. He is well spoken and realizes he goes as far as his line will take him. Branden Albert is a Team Captain in the making. Clady, Stewart, and Williams do not offer that type of leadership, IMHO.

They thing that scare me about Chris Williams is he has short arms, which usually isn't what you want from your left tackle. He might end up as guard in NFL

I like Albert but, i can't see the team using a number 12 pick on a guy who might not be able to step in and play the LT position.
