KJR-AM is reporting that running back Shaun Alexander has been told that the Seahawks will release him today.

No one with the team has confirmed this yet, but the move would not be surprising. Alexander's fate with the team was pretty much sealed when running backs Julius Jones and T.J. Duckett were signed in free agency.

There was a report last month that Alexander was being released. But he was still recovering from the sugery on the left wrist that bothered him all last season, so he could not be released until the wrist healed.

Hmm, I'm calling the Texans on this one. They like ineffective former star backs.

LOL Was just going to say that the answer is already NO before that question is even asked and shouldn't even be brought up.

Even though Seattle signed Jones and Duckett, I hear they really like Stewart at RB...Could they trade up to our pick to grab him?

See now I am sold on Stewart so I hope not. But its ok I have ADD so I can get sold on someone else.

I want Stewart!!! (I'm a little biased, though ;D) Alexander hasn't done much this last year...so, I'm truly not impressed!

I could honestly see Alexander going to the Pats.

Maroney has been banged up, Faulk is still a valuable receiver out of the backfield but getting a little old. They like older players who can still produce. When Alexander is healthy, he always seems to get extra yards after contact. He could do well behind their O-line.

Just a thought.

Ha! I've been wondering what you were going to say in reply to the Stewart threads! GO FOR IT! Tell us about him!

I wouldn't be surprised to see Alexander land in Indianapolis.

I wonder if his ego will allow him to sign on as a backup.

Alexander has been **** since he got the big contract. He might be good now that he has to play for peanuts again.

Ego might be a bad word. Pride. Only three years ago he was breaking records.
