Lawrence Jackson, DE, Southern Cal, 6-4 1/4, 271

Some players work out better, but this guy is just a ballplayer. Four-year starter and a two-time All-Pacific-10 player who finished his career with 30 1/2 sacks.

Just wonder if he could turn into a Jason Tuck type player. Much like Elvis, he just performs. I just like a player who has played against good opponets and performs well. I have seen him late first through the top of the third round in mock drafts. I think he would be a great pick if he makes it to 42.

Looking for input from college fans, who watch much more college football than I do.

Any interest or thoughts?

He has only played DE for his entire college career. I doubt he could play DT unless he gains 40 lbs. hes a "light" 265, and plays like a 3-4 LB sometimes.
Hes a speed rusher off the edge, and a disrupter in the backfield.

Kind of reminds me of another guy we should draft. Mutli-year starter in college, solid contributor on a national championship team. We should really give this guy a look!

Justin Tuck's time at "DT" was on rushing downs when he was strictly handling pass rush assignments. The Giants were lining him up and expecting him to plug holes.

Jackson is a good ball player but we've got a couple young DEs who all fill the same role and probably do it better. We'd probably need to take him with the #42 pick, I'd rather see that pick used for Trevor Laws, an actual DT who also just made plays in college.
