Just curious, since Dallas has 2 picks if i get the picks they make right, but out of order does that count as a plus or a minus

SSJ Mock 4/23/08:

1st Round:

1) Miami Dolphins: Jake Long, OT, Michigan (Already signed. Go Blue!)

2) St. Louis Rams: Chris Long, DE, Virginia (Glenn Dorsey and Vernon Gholston were also considered.)

3) Atlanta Falcons: Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU (Matt Ryan is the other option, but they may go QB in the 2nd round)

4) Oakland Raiders: Darren McFadden, RB, Arkansas

5) Kansas City Chiefs: Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College (Now that they have the 17th pick as well, they are not forced to go OT with this selection.)

6) New York Jets: Vernon Gholston, DE/OLB, Ohio State

7) New England Patriots (from SF): Keith Rivers, LB, USC

8) Baltimore Ravens: Leodis McKelvin, CB, Troy

9) Cincinnati Bengals: Sedrick Ellis, DT, USC

10) New Orleans Saints: Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, CB, Tennessee State (They really wanted Rivers or Ellis)

11) Buffalo Bills: Devin Thomas, WR, Michigan State (The Bills need WR bad and reach a little. I could see them trading down several slots and grabbing a WR.)

12) Denver Broncos: Branden Albert, OT/OG, Virginia (Jay Cutler needs a bodyguard. The big run on offensive tackles starts here.)

13) Carolina Panthers: Ryan Clady, OT, Boise State

14) Chicago Bears: Jeff Otah, OT, Pittsburgh (Chris Williams is a possibility)

15) Detroit Lions: Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Illinois (The Lions can’t rely on Tatum Bell)

16) Arizona Cardinals: Mike Jenkins, CB, South Florida

17) Kansas City Chiefs (from Minnesota): Chris Williams, OT, Vanderbilt (Carl Peterson is elated that Williams fell in his lap.)

18) Houston Texans: Jonathan Stewart, RB, Oregon

19) Philadelphia Eagles: James Hardy, WR, Indiana (I have him as my #1 WR in the draft. A mismatch for defenses at 6’6)

20) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: DeSean Jackson, WR, Cal (Joey Galloway can’t play forever.)

21) Washington Redskins: Derrick Harvey, DE, Florida

22) Dallas Cowboys (from Cleveland): Felix Jones, RB, Arkansas

23) Pittsburgh Steelers: Gosder Cherilus, OT, Boston College (He will be a good fit in Pittsburgh)

24) Tennessee Titans: Phillip Merling, DE, Clemson (WR is a big need, but not good value here. DE became a big need when Odom and LaBoy took off via FA. Merling could slide into DT at times as well)

25) Seattle Seahawks: Kentwan Balmer, DT, North Carolina

26) Jacksonville Jaguars: Calais Campbell, DE, Miami

27) San Diego Chargers: Kenny Phillips, S, Miami

28) Dallas Cowboys: Limas Sweed, WR, Texas (A little high for Sweed, but I could see it happening)

29) San Francisco 49ers (from Indianapolis): Jerod Mayo, OLB/ILB, Tennessee (May be best suited in the middle…but Patrick Willis plays there. Mayo can play outside and was just too talented to pass up on at 29.)

30) Green Bay Packers: Brandon Flowers, CB, Va Tech (Aqib Talib, or Antoine Cason could be selected here as well.)

31) New York Giants: Dan Connor, LB, Penn State

# **** New England forfeited their #31 overall draft pick
