Here are some teams of interest for me and the teams in the Raven's division.

Pittsburgh Steelers: A-
Branden Albert, G Virginia
Patrick Lee, CB, Auburn
Chris Ellis, DE, Va Tech
Donald Thomas, G, UConn
Marcus Smith, WR, New Mexico
J Lehman, LB, Illinois

Good move: Getting Albert in the first is a great pick. In the reasl draft he won't last that long, but very nice for Broncobuff and DB4l.
Tell me why...There's no RB in this draft? Fast Willie Parker needs some help
Best Value pick: Donald Thomas will start for the Steelers for 10 years.
Could surprise: J Leman has great intangibles.

Cincinnati Bengals: B-
1 Derrick Harvey, DE, Florida
2 Fred Davis, TE, USC
3 Marcus Harrison, DT, Arkansas
4 Geno Hayes, OLB, Florida State
5 Tyvon Branch, CB, UConn
6 Robert Felton, OG, Arkansas

Good move: Fred Davis in the 2nd. Carson has another weapon.
Tell me why.....would Cincinnati draft a guy with character concerns? Harrison and Hayes are questionable guys off the field.
Best Value pick: Tyvon Branch has a great football IQ.
Could surprise: Robert Felton is versatile enough to get on the field.

Cleveland Browns: B
1. Pick 56: Marcus Howard, LB, Georgia
2. Pick 87 Matt Forte, RB, Tulane
3. Pick 115 Chevis Jackson, CB, LSU
4. Pick 181 Arman Shields, WR, Richmond
5. Pick 213 Kory Lichtensteiger, C, Bowling Green

Good Move: Matt Forte will have a very nice pro career.
Tell me why....Cleveland had to make Kaylore suffer so by trading most of their picks?
Best Value pick: Kory Lichtensteiger. He will start for the Browns in the next three years. And do very well.
Could surprise: Arman Shields was very productive in a small school.

Denver Broncos: B+
1(12) Ryan Clady OT
3(70) Mike Pollack OC/OG
3(71) Xavier Adibi OLB
4(104) Ahtybia Rubin DT
4(118) Tashard Choice RB
5(130) Quintin Demps S
5(140) Adarius Bowman WR
6(182) Brandon Coutu K
7(202) Kevin Robinson WR/KR/PR
7(209) Mike Dragosavich P

Good move: Clady and Pollack will set the O-Line up for years to come.
Tell me why.......didn't Eddie Mac draft Durant Brooks? Hmmmm? But seriously, why was DT was passed up in the 3rd for LB?
Best Value pick: Tashard Choice in the 4th.
Could surprise: Kevin Robinson could be everything Domenik Hixon was not.

Detroit Lions: C
Glen Dorsey, DT, LSU
Carl Nicks, OT, Nebraska
Zach Bowman, CB, Nebraska
Chris Harrington, DE, Texas A&M
Corey McKeon, LB, Nebraska

Good move: Dorsey will be a stud, but is the price too high?
Tell me why....Is Detroit now Nebraska East? Three players from the Cornhuskers! And, why move up to take Dorsey when there are so many other holes on this team? And no Running back selection?!?
Best Value pick: Carl Nicks
Could surprise: Chris Harrington could be a very nice player. Good intangibles.

AFC West Breakdown

Kansas City Chiefs: A-

Round 1- Jake Long, OT, Michigan
Round 2- Trevor Laws, DT, Notre Dame
Round 3- Andre Caldwell, WR, Florida
Round 4- Justin King, CB, Penn State
Round 5- Chad Rinehart, OG, Northern Iowa
Round 5- Wallace Gilberry, DE, Alabama
Round 6- Simeon Castille, CB/S, Alabama
Round 7- DaJuan Tribble, CB, Boston College
Round 7- D.J. Wolfe, S, Oklahoma

Good move: Getting Long at 5 and Laws in the early 2nd. Two moves that soldify both lines and fill urgent needs in KC.
Tell me why...There's no QB in this draft? IMHO, KC may think Croyle is the future, most analysts disagree.
Best Value pick: Justin King, huge value in the 4th round.
Could surprise: Tribble, Castille and Rinehart could be involved immediately in a weak secondary and OL.

Oakland Raiders: B

1. Vernon Gholston, DE, Ohio State
2. Devin Thomas, WR, Michigan State
4. Kirk Barton, OT, Ohio State
6. Stanford Keglar, LB, Purdue
7. Nick Hayden, DT, Wisconsin

Good move: Getting Devin Thomas in the early 2nd rd. WR is a huge need in Oakland despite the incoming Javon Walker, who has a lot to prove after last season.
Tell me why...There's no RB in this draft or no DT taken until the 7th rd. Fargas had a decent season last year but in reality he has no competition now in Oakland.
Best Value pick: Nick Hayden in the 7th.
Could surprise: Kirk Barton could make an immediate impact on a below average OL.

San Diego Chargers C

1. Gosder Cherilus, OT, Boston College
5. Doug Jones, FB, Cincinnati
6. Frank Morton, DT, Tulane
7. Jonathan Wilhite, CB, Auburn

Good move: Getting Gosder in the late 1st. Could immediately step into that RT slot vacated by Olivea.
Tell me why...There's no RB/WR/S taken. I realise SD only had 4 picks due to moves in 2006 but there is no depth whatsoever behind LT or Weddle/Hart.
Best Value pick: Wilhite in the 7th.
Could surprise: Wilhite.

Oakland Raiders: B

Raiders picks plus FA:

Oakland Raiders:

1. Vernon Gholston, DE, Ohio State
2. Devin Thomas, WR, Michigan State
4. Kirk Barton, OT, Ohio State
6. Stanford Keglar, LB, Purdue
7. Nick Hayden, DT, Wisconsin

Thaddeus Coleman, OT, Mississipi State
Adam Krause, OG, Michigan
Kolo Kapanu, TE, West Texas A & M
Ben Jarvis Green, RB, Ol Miss
Steve Octavian, LB, Nebraska
Alvin Bowen, LB, Iowa State
DJ Parker, S, Va. Tech

Raiders are in a tough spot this year with only 5 picks - and only 3 in the first 6 rounds! With all their needs, they can't possibly address them all. I certainly wanted a DT before round 7 (and was pleased to get Hayden there) but wasn't willing to sacrifice value. Remember that Bush was drafted last year and if he has recovered from his broken leg, could add to the RB corp.

That's why. ;)

Teams in the Buffalo Bills Division.

New England Patriots- C

8. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, CB Tenn State
38. Cliford Avril, DE, Purdue
69. Terrel Thomas, CB, USC
94. Jordy Nelson, WR, Kansas State
156. Tyler Polumbus OT COLORADO
220. Chauncey Washington RB USC

I know, its a weak grade but the drafting is a direct reflection of that. The only players that i think will even stand out are Rogers-Cromartie and Nelson. Obviously, the Patriots dont need a lot of help but the could of used a lot more youth and help on the defensivie side of the ball. In a sense, its a wasted pick on Nelson and Washington. Two areas that arent a strong need for this team.

New York Jets- A+

6. Sedrick Ellis
36. Ali Highsmith
67. Lavelle Hawkins
98. Charles Godfrey
132. Owen Schmitt
162. William Franklin
193. Matt Flynn

Best draft out of this division. Hit multiple areas of need with some great quality talent. Schmitt, Ellis, Highsmith, and Godfrey will all be difference makers on a team that is close already to being a top notch team. Qb may still be an issue but Pennington is still there and maybe Flynn will turn out to be something.

Miami Dolphins- B+

1. Chris Long
32. Sam Baker
64. Early Doucet
96. Tom Zbikowski
158. Antwaun Molden
192. Bryan Smith

Another very solid draft at least with the first 4 picks. All will be strong contributors right away. Qb still a question mark but maybe Parcell's is satisfied with Beck.

A man of your obvious intelligence and analytical ability should have no problem breaking down the strengths and weaknesses of three team drafts.

And if you do I'll give you a cookie.
