OK, when I had watched Richardson play, I was not impressed with him as he lacked lateral mobility but when watching him and McDuffie run block, they really get out on the LBs and a lot of Davis' runs were on the left side. Richardsons not a LT but he might be well suited for RT or guard, where he'll have help on each side and DTs arent as explosive as DEs. Either of these guys seem like they may have the mobility to get to the second level and also the girth to help in short yardage...and both are expected to go around 5-6. Plus McDuffie played injured last year so he might be better than the film shows.

What are your thoughts on these guys as a mid/late picks?

Maybe. But i still say go with a quality OT with the 12th pick. Thats where the value is.

OK, but lets not look at this as either or. What do you think of drafting Richardson or McDuffie in the 5th? Do you think they would suit what we do? Do you think they could provide value for where they would be taken?

If they can do the things you say they can than yes.

Richardson is a monster with long arms and a huge frame. He just lacks fire and consistency. Hes one of those linemen who is just sorta.....there.
He could however turn out to be a pro bowl calibur guy. He has all the physical tools to be great, he just needs a tutor at the pro level. Hes too passive.
I would be careful, and would rather have a guy who doesnt have all the physical tools but works his ass off and is a leader on the field.

Heres a couple guy that are multi-talented linemen

John Greco, Toledo
Height: 6-5. Weight: 305.
Projected 40 Time: 5.20.
Combine 40 Time: 5.31.
Pro Day 40 Time: 5.16.
Benchx225: 30.
Projected Round: 3.
John Greco improved on his 40 time from the combine, citing that his hamstring was sore.

Greco, who can play four positions on the offensive line, has been named first-team All-MAC two years in a row.

Jeremy Zuttah, Rutgers
Height: 6-3. Weight: 303.
Projected 40 Time: 5.06.
Combine 40 Time: 4.99.
Benchx225: 35.
Projected Round: 4-5.
Another zone-blocking lineman, as you can tell by his 4.99. Big East First-Teamer. Can play almost all of the positions on the offensive front.
Put him where you want him.

Brandon Keith, Northern Iowa
Height: 6-5. Weight: 349.
Projected 40 Time: 5.29.
Combine 40 Time: 5.23.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.98.
Benchx225: 31.
Projected Round: 5.
I know 40 times for offensive linemen is meaningless, but a 4.98 from a 343-pound monster? Wow.

These guys can flat out MOVE for their weight, so the zone system shouldnt be an issue.
