We already hit the lottery with our UCF pick, Brandon Marshall. Anyone think we could do it again with this kid in the fourth round?
Kevin Smith, RB UCF

First, its hard to believe you could put up 2800 all purpose yards in one season, but with no fumbles? Dude! Dude. Dude?
He's not lightning fast but very tough, always runs with a head of steam, and falls forward after contact. I would honestly say he runs a lot like Larry Johnson.
Here's a video of him against UAB - all 41 carries. If you look on youtube, you can find lots of videos of 60-80 yard TD runs as well. However, this one gives you a feeling for his running style (Bobby Turner would kill him for messing around in the backfield -- but he hits the hole with authority).

Worth a look, but good god 474 touches in 12 games? Fresher legs that got stuck behind a better back in college is a better plan for late round success.

He won't last till the 4th round.

Judging from that I would wager that he never gains more than 600 yds in an NFL season.
He has servicable vision, but his legs quit on contact, he lacks burst out of his cuts, and he leaves his legs exposed with his upright style. He picks up yards when the OL blows open huge lanes, or seals off an entire side of the field.
I'm selling this kid as anything other than a UDFA.

He'll get drafted in the 2nd,hopefully by us. He's a 1 cut & go RB that fits our system.

It should also be noted that he had 320 yards against UAB.

I'm a Golden Knight fan. This guy is the real deal. If available in the 2nd, I would take him.

Here's a video of Kevin Smith, explosive. Watch him outrun the D-backs for a long TD.

Here is one of his two rushing TD against Texas this year. Both TD's were goal to go, and he earned them after contact up the middle:

I'll buy Kevin Smith; but I won't buy him before several others backs in the draft. I think that Smith (from what I've been able to see) would work extremely well in Denver. I think his vision is pretty good and he's a hard runner. Much like Choice he isn't going to run away from people; but he runs hard and gets yards after contact.
Not at #42; but if the Broncos find to get a spot somewhere between #42 and their first fourth round selection; he's more than worth the pick. Heck, if he's there in the fourth and we've been able to address two other bigger needs - to me he's more than worth it.
Offensive line and receiver have to be address; and if we can't trade for Robertson -- obviously defensive tackle as well. If two of those three, or if all three are able to be addressed he's more than worthy of a third or fourth round pick if available.
I'm not as settled on the running back position as some, and am extremely confident that we'll try to get a back this year with an extra stable of picks (Day 2) than wait considering how many juniors declare. Even if it's a guy like Mike Hart somewhere in the mid-rounds, it's just a gut instinct that we'll find someone to come in and compete.

He looks solid, but I also agree that he doesn't seem to have a great deal of suddeness or explosion. He also seemed to take a lot of awkward hits, that would concern me in the pros.
Not sure about the no fumbles stat, considering he fumbled in that highlight video.

If we use our second pick on him I will have an Orange 4 Life meltdown. Not worth our second.
This team has much worse needs than RB.

Agreed.
We are set at RB and to use a 2nd round pick on one would be a big time mistake.

he looked pretty nice there...(then again it's hard not to on an 80 yd run)
he showed a decent burst and ok finishing speed...but at the pro level it wouldn't have worked out so well for him on that play...
the hole was gaping, and the talent level he was facing is inferior compared to what he'll face at the pro level...
i do think his vision is quite noteworthy though...even on that 80 yd scamper i think his vision helped set up that long run...
looking at all the film you've provided i'll say his vision is his best asset...
which btw is a vital attribute needed in our system so i can see why you'd want him here...
personally i think selvin young can do what that guy does but better...selvin may not have his power but that's what we have henry for...
