OT: Parents fight over which gang toddler should join

Seriously, what can be said about this? Just sad.

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. -- A couple fighting about which gang their 4-year-old toddler should join caused a public disturbance that resulted in the father's arrest, Commerce City police said Thursday.

On Saturday, Joseph Manzanares stormed into the Hollywood Video store where his girlfriend worked, threatened to kill her and knocked over several video displays and even a computer, Commerce City police Sgt. Joe Sandoval said.

After he ran out of the store, police were called and the 19-year-old was arrested at his home.

His girlfriend told police that they had been arguing about the upbringing of their son and which gang he should belong to. The teen mother, who is black, is a member of the Crips. Manzanares is Hispanic and belongs to the Westside Ballers gang, the woman said.

"They have different ideas on how the baby should be raised. Basically, she said they cannot agree on which gang the baby would 'claim,'" Sandoval said.

Manzanares was charged with disorderly conduct, harassment, and domestic violence. He was transported to the Adams County Detention Facility.

On Tuesday, he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was sentenced to a year of probation. The misdemeanor harassment charge was dropped.

We just had someone get shot while driving on the freeway. Dude was driving his two young sons in the back seat. Some gang member got bent cause he got cut off and shot the guy, while his car was in motion. Dude died, crashed and kis kids saw the whole thing. Yes but with the crips he will be allowed to start sooner. With the ballers he may have to wait until he's 10 to get a starting spot on the murder team or the robbery team. With the the crips he can instantly start and learn under some of the best murderers in colorado.

If he's lucky maybe his parents can send him here to LA to learn from the OG crips. They really have an effective training program.

I was recently robbed by two crips.

I pulled into a parking spot and these two bumbling nincompoops come "swaggering" around the corner with their oversized pants around their knees, wearing black hoodies and blue bandanas, and packing a froggin' AK47.

They proceed to assail me with their gansta'ness and leave with my wallet.

The detectives wouldnt really do anything about the case because there was so little evidence, so I started doing my own digging and traced them to a "Dollar General" store. These idiots tried to use my credit card to purchase 140 dollars worth of stuff at a dollar store! Needless to say, I had already cancelled my cards. Can you even come up with 140 bucks worth of junk at a dollar general?

I'm not all that familiar with how such things might work, but that would make it seem that he didn't have the cash to post bond himself?

Well, hopefully the parents will make the correct choice. I mean this is a big step in the child's future and choosing the correct gang can make all the difference in the world. It sounds like his parents love him so I'm sure they will think about this carefully and choose the gang that has more to offer their child.
