The one thing I really didn't like about that video clip is the highlight/lowlight of reggie wayne catching that TD pass over DWill. I think there needs to be a "rule" that prohibits clips like that being shown. It's still sad for me to see stuff on DWill and DNash. That's just my opinion...take it for what it's worth.

A rule banning any video of someone that died tragically? I think that is sort of strange.

It's not that. People want it banned because it goes against all the revisionist history around here that constantly tries to talk about DWill as if he was a top corner in the league, one far better than Dre Bly. I never quite got that.

I didn't like that Charger vid with someone catching a pass over Darrent, then you hear a gunshot, no class.

People these days are a little soft, and complain or make comments like that. It's too bad D Will died like he did but life goes on and it's okay to see video of him.

the sound in that video is spost to be a lightning strike ... at least thats what person who uploaded it to youtube at one point claiming they made it , and IT WAS NOT a gunshot , but lightning ... i guess it could go either way ... all in what you hear

if it was a gunshot ,and done for that reason then yea Lynch Mob it is classless trash ... i think it is lightning tho , i mean if it was a team whose name didn't have something to do with that sound like the rams and we hear a boom as they scored i'd call bs ... but their name is chargers

Yeah, same here.....and for the record, im not over sensitive about Darrent.

I feel bad for his mother, seeing her on the field at the Steeler game was touching.

Bailey called the move the "most significant" by the team this offseason, given the number of clutch kicks and experience in a variety of weather conditions to which Elam has been exposed in 15 years.

"There better be a guy who really impresses me when camp rolls around, because it'll really, really bother me then," Bailey said.

"When you play for a long time, you understand how important the position is," he explained. "You lose games when you don't have one."

Bailey also didn't appear to be doing handstands over the team's collective offseason in free agency. In its biggest headline transactions, Denver added Bailey's brother, Boss, and another linebacker, Niko Koutouvides, as well as safeties Marquand Manuel and Marlon McCree and wide receiver Keary Colbert.

"Other than bringing in linebackers and receivers, I don't think we've done a whole lot," Champ Bailey said. "I think what we've done is let some key guys go that really helped us out last year. We're going to need guys step up to fill in those needs."

almost the same ball skills...its just D-Will acctualy knew how to tackle an NFL reciver, unlike Dre who reminds me of a dog humping someones leg.

WEll Champ better not be angry at Denver or its new kicker. Elam wanted way too much money. I don't care how cool he is how clutch he is. He is on the end of his career. Won't/Can't kick off. And his range was starting to come in a little. Those 50's weren't so great.

But that clutch balls of steel gene he has is what makes him special and that will be missed. We can find another one like him. Heck I would trade a pick with Green Bay for a fine Kicker they have their whats his name, Oh yeah Mason!

Champ doesn't sound happy. I'm guessing he will want out if we continue to suck.

And I would understand. The best corner to ever play deserves to win a Super Bowl.

I have several million reasons why champ should shut his mouth. I dont get this "deserves to win a super bowl thing" Just like how some people here in LA were saying the Clippers should cut Sam Cassell because he "deserves to be on a contender" These guys make an absurd amount of money to play a kids game. Their life is an f'n super bowl.

Listen, I am glad we did not resign Elam. He was great but he can't kick kickoffs and he cannot kick anything over 45 yards consistently.

He wasn't there yet but he could have continued to improve to a pro bowl level which I think he was well on pace to do.

People can dog on D-Will long after he's gone however he was an excellent, young football player who was continueing to improve his game. He factored in against the run and the pass despite his size and he also helped out the return games. More than anything else, he was a lonely, positive bright spot in our locker room which has been filled with $hitheads lately.

All things considered, I think that Bly and D-Will would have eventually been comparable in pass defense. When it came to the run game, it wouldn't even have been close. D-Will was much better.

Yeah, no one deserves anything, you have to earn it.

They always said Karl Malone deserved to win a NBA title, they don't award them till you earn it.

That's your opinion, I respect that.

My opinion is, he has worked as hard as any other player or any other working man for that matter. It's not his fault that athletes get paid a ridiculous amount of money.
If you were in his place, knowing you have worked really hard to get to that level... would you feel ok being stuck on a bad team while your clock is ticking? He won't play forever. If there's any player on this team who seems to care about winning or losing, it's Champ. In my opinion, the guy deserves to win. It might be hard to believe but not every player is in this for the money.

Too bad Champ can't earn it by himself.

I agree not every player is in it for the money, but that doesnt give them the right to start making demands...nor does a team have to cater to his needs (without their best interests at hand) just because he plays hard. Plus, it seems like the Broncos treat Champ very fairly (they signed his brother!) so while it would be nice to "see" him win a championship, i dont know how much "deserve" is involved

Maybe if Champ wasn't sucking up all the cap, you could afford a good kicker.

Or a good D linemen for that matter.

I was told Elway won 2 Superbowls, too. That was right after I was told that TD won 2 Superbowls. They were statements made by people who dont have capacity for logic.

Football is a team game. Any clear thinking individual knows that.

However, a player can certainly effect the outcome of a game on the line. Kickers as much as any other player. Elam was responsible for several games "on the line" where he came through to help the team win. Another kicker may not be able to do that on the same level as Elam has.

Having a lousy kicker definately cost the Chiefs at least a couple games last season.

We do have the money and the cap room. There is a difference between being able to afford a player and being stupid enough to overpay for one. You are in the Raider's division, you should know these things.
