It's like something right out of "No Country for Old Men." We used to have a beach house in Rosarito Beach. My mother was planning on retiring down there. Glad we sold it and got out before the drug gangs moved in. I'm surprised our government has not issued a general advisory to American tourists warning them to stay away from the Mexican border. I can't imagine what it's like being a border agent now, carrying a little .38 or 9mm. And still, our government will not admit that the War on Drugs does ten times more harm than good. Prohibition does not work. Period.

Exactly. The WoD has been eroding our rights and freedoms for a lot longer, and more perniciously, than Bush's "War on Terror" has.

It's one thing to oppose the war in Iraq - lots of people do. Opposing the WoD, and tallying up its genuine costs, and pointing out that both Dems and GOPers have supported it enthusiastically for decades, puts you in a very small minority.

Unbelievable how many people we keep in business with this War on Drugs....Cartels, Drug Lords, Dealers, Prisons, Presidential buddies, governments, etc. We should have known back when Nancy Reagan was saying "Just say NO" that it was a joke. Legalization NOW! Those that aren't going to do drugs will not do them legal or not, those that are will do them legal or not, but the crimes to obtain and sell those drugs will be eliminated.
