View Full Version : Three Burning Questions...

These may or may not have anything to do with our team.

1. What will happen to Shaun Alexander? The Seahawks have just paid starter money to two new backs, what gives? Where will he go?

2. What happens to Jason Taylor? Are they trying to get some draft picks? He obviously doesn't fit in their 3-4 scheme and has said he wants out. Where will he go, what will he cost?

3. I am one of the first to scream against DeSean Jackson, but is there any chance he is the next Steve Smith? He looks like he will be about the same size and speed. Isn't that what we are looking for, a true deep threat? If he was 75% of Steve Smith would it be worth the #12 pick? Or, do you still think he could be had at the bottom of the first (with a trade down)?

Three burning questions, no porn... (talk amongst yourselves)

The Broncos will bring them all in for a look. :)

Alexander is done.

Taylor should threaten to retire if he isn't traded. What's he got to lose, it's not like he's going to prosper in a 3-4 anyhow. Anyone know if he's done it before? Learning to drop into coverage at 30+ is no simple task.

IF Jackson could be 75% of Steve Smith AND have the ST ability, he'd be worth the 12th pick. Not necessarily to THIS Broncos team but if it came down to BPA and you knew he would have that impact, he'd be worth it. Once you assume the level of all risk that draft picks have, I'd say late 1st. As to whether he's there at the bottom of the first, it only takes one Miami to create the next Ted Ginn so while I think he'd be worthy of a late 1st, I don't think he makes it to the last 5 picks.

Alexander is only done in Seattle. He'll catch on with a new team.

Holy Crap, I just watched some DeSean Jackson videos on YouTube. That kid is freaky fast and has good hands too. Here is a video of some of his receiver work. You can also watch as many videos as you want of his PR touchdowns - there are lots of them.

That video showed him running a wide variety of routes for a smallish guy. Pretty impressive.

I didn't find any of those particularly burning, I could care less in fact.

I wish the Broncos had a back that read his blocks as well as Alexander. they haven't since TD.

Thats true. But Alexander has been nothing but injured since his big pay day. I can see the faiders signing him for a boat load.

stay away from MeSean....

clever, kind of....ok not really. but that goes completely against what i've heard about him. I've heard his competitive spirit drives him to work hard and is team-orientated...

heard the exact opposite....He is competitive but can become a cancer when he is not the focus.

Wouldn't be surprised if we drafted him...fills 3 (WR, KR, PR) needs at the sametime!!

I'd be fine with Jackson if we traded down. At 12 he's too much.

I'll take this Jackson in the 6th:

Similar style with similar speed, better size, and a much better value.

Devin Thomas is the WR that I want to see us go after in the 2nd even if we have to move up to get him.

I like Dexter as well. But, its always hard to judge DII talent. The corners played him pretty well on the deep game (he didn't get tons of separation on thoise clips), but gave up too much underneath. Maybe they just had to respect his speed.

I'm not married to either guy, and I would certainly like to trade down even if we wanted DeSean (around 18-20). I would feel ok about picking him up if we got another second or third rounder to use on O-line or D-line.

I think we finally have a QB that could out-throw a deep speed guy (unlike Plummer). It would be nice to have the ability for quick points next year.

Remember the good old days when we got a turnover, and Shanahan would go for the jugular (deep ball) within about two plays? I loved that. I would love to start seeing that attitude again. Go for the kill in the first half, make the opponent pay quickly and dearly for a turnover.

I completely agree. But he could (I say could) be worth a first rounder for us because he fills a couple of our missing roles in one player. A trade down would be the best thing if Dorsey and Ellis are out of reach.

Having a bad day Atlas?

What if Jason Taylor ended up in our division (like with the Chiefs, across from Jared Allen)? It might be an issue then. Just saying...

I'm not too worried about Alexander, he has some good production ahead of him, but I don't think he will ever be dominant again. But it is an interesting question.

And, if we do draft DeSean Jackson, then it will be very burning. Red hot burning. Just like the burning Bronco on the O-mane logo kind of fire. You will feel the heat from your monitor and keyboard searing your fingertips. You will even want to cry out in pain. Just saying...

Yes, jackson is not worth the #12 spot.
Hes also just not that impressive and i watched a ton of his games. Lavelle Hawkins is just as good a return man, and is a very good WR as well, of course jackson was often double teamed.
Also, if DEN is going to get a guy because he is versatile and fills a couple of missing roles, then why not this guy in the second??

Terrell Thomas, USC
Height: 6-0. Weight: 202.
Projected 40 Time: 4.40.
Combine 40 Time: 4.49.
Benchx225: 21. Vertical .
Projected Round: 2.
A jack of all trades, Terrell Thomas can play corner, safety and return specialist. He also returned a blocked field goal for a touchdown in 2006. The leader of USC's locker room.

Hmmm. Lets see, can play FS, DEN needs one for Lynch to groom, can play STs as a return specialist, and he a leader, sounds like a solid guy.

Did you spell that correctly, I thought it was penis-illin?
