Broncos coach Mike Shanahan announced Monday that the Broncos waived tackle Doug Nienhuis.
Nienhuis joined the Broncos in October 2006 as a practice-squad signee. He spent the 2007 season on the reserve/NFL Europa injured list with a knee injury.
Nienhuis played on special teams in seven games as a rookie for the New York Jets in 2005 after they signed him from Seattle’s practice squad earlier that year.
He was originally signed by the Seahawks who selected Nienhuis in the seventh round (254th overall) in the 2005 NFL Draft.
