Nonsense.
Report is bogus ... it's prolly an agent-hoax like Javon's agent pulled.

considering what the broncos went through in 2007, Dunn would probably be the least injury prone of the group.
but if they do sign him it probably means they won't draft a RB. that sucks considering how deep at RB the draft is.

... although, it's not a bad thing that our soon-to-be megastar 3rd down back Selvin Young is flying so low under the radar that people might actually think we'd be interested in this geriatric 3rd down back.
Selvin's rookie year was a lot like B-Marsh's ... explosive, but under the radar. Raise a toast his sophomore year also follows B-Marsh's pattern ^5

Not only is Dunn a great back in a rotation, but he's a quality person all the way around. Doesn't mean he's the best fit for us. If you are a fan interested in player character, he is a great fit in that regard.

Atlanta had been running our zone blocking scheme recently. With that, he'd get killed behind our line.

Yep, but I donīt like him as a running back ... at all. I just donīt like his style, although the Broncos locker room could probably really use someone like Dunn.

That's true ... he's one of the great guys in the league, no doubt.
But we have a young budding supernova third-down back already, plus a 25 carry workhorse, plus a special teams ace/stellar kick returner at #3 RB, not to mention Mike Bell. No room on this roster, really ... unless we want experienced camp fodder.

He had a pretty good average at catching passes out of the backfield for 6.2 average. But a 3.2 running average. I say no thanks, and look to the draft.

Lets be realistic. He'll only get 1500 yards, due to him only getting around 10 carries.

I think we forgot so fast that last year we played a game where all three of our RBs were injured and Andre played through the pain as well...
Nothing wrong for insurance and if it comes cheap.

He's a great guy and a hard working back. I'd rather have him over Henry. If he can be had for cheap, then I say do it. He'll be splitting time and be a good influence in the locker room so I think it would be a good move.
He would have to know coming he in he would not be getting a lot of carries...so with that understanding if he wanted to come in and be a leader a mentor and a role-player I would more than welcome him. Like others have said, he is the type of guy you want on your team.

He might have a few carries left in him. If he came in, it would obviously be as a reserve, 3rd down, rotation guy.
If the price is right, this isn't a bad idea at all.

He would be getting Mike Bell carries, so what's the point? Henry and Young are 1 and 1A, and then Andre Hall will get some carries. If he came in and forced Hall to the bench I wouldn't be too happy because Hall actually has upside and potential. Our #3 and #4 runningbacks have to be guys we're grooming for the future or players who can do other things (return kicks, punts), otherwise we're wasting a spot.

Why would you say that? Denver was 5th in the NFL in rushing. Young had a great rookie year so did Hall for that matter and Henry was leading the NFL in rushing after 4 weeks. Ah but don't let facts get in the way of your hating. Carry on.

Bring him in for camp, not to sure if he would make past cuts.
But i wouldn't mind him giving Young and Henry a rest.
Or when Henry gets hurt again, he can fill in.

I personally think that there is going to be one hell of a competition for RB this offseason. Young will get a full offseason in the conditioning program, Henry has a lot to prove again, Hall was probably the most explosive back and he'll be a year wiser. I even read that Mike Bell has been a staple in Dove Valley since the season ended. There's going to be a fight for roster spots and all these guys are younger with more potential that Dunn. I don't think it would be a great career move.

Dunn asked to be released when ATL signed Turner, so not sure what makes anyone here think he'd be willing to come in here and be a 3rd down back.

Let him compete for the spot. If he wants a big contract and guarantees as the starter than we obviously pass. That doesn't mean we can't bring him in and talk.

He would, though. Even if we were interested - and I seriously doubt we are - he'd want way too much money for our budget. Dunn is a proven pro, he's not coming here for the veteran minimum, and we have too many other holes to fill. We've addressed LB and WR, but S, OT and DT are still gaping. No, I'll bet this is another agent ploy to drum up a phony bidding war.
UNLESS ... Shanahan's effusive praise of Andre Hall - lauding him for being inches away from taking three kick returns to the house this year - was just rationalization for having waived Hixon to the practice squad, and he's not so high on Andre Hall after all.

But he way contracts are being handed out, there is no way I would pay big money for him.

Yeah, he does a lot for the community.
I watched this thing on Dunn, apparently he has a program in place where he helps single mothers in Atlanta.
It almost brought tears to my eyes when he gave away brand new homes to some of these women.
Also cars, cash.
What a great person and athlete.

We all know how helpful Travis is to single mothers. He is "helping" like 9 of them.
He could come here and be a father figure to Travis' kids.

Dunn is 33 this year and will be 34 in 2009. He's getting pretty old for an RB but he probably has a couple seasons left.
For most the Bronco heads on this forum, I'm surprising your not beating your meat off once, then doing it once again after this. After all, character is what it's all about right?
Dunn has great character and has a great life story in himself. He'll run great in our system as a change up.
However we'd be kinda stacked. Travis Henry, Selvin Young, Warrick Dunn, Mike Bell.
I don't think Warrick would find much time in there unless we trade...

Dunn would be a great addition as a bkup RB. The problem is we need our bkups to be good on special teams and he's too old for that. I'd say pass and go younger, but if they did it I do think he's a good leader and a good player. It won't make a huge difference either way.

I never said don't bring him in and talk. But a guy that doesn't want to compete with a career backup for a starting spot doesn't sound like the kind of guy that wants to compete with 4 RBs already on our roster.
It's not that I don't like the guy or repsect what he's accomplished. It just seems pretty clear to me that Dunn isn't looking for a vet min contract laden with incentives or to be a 3rd down, "give a guy a breather" type back getting 0-10 carries a game.
