Gary Zimmerman has said from the day he was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame that he considered himself a Broncos' Hall of Famer.

If there were any lingering questions about Zimmerman's allegiance, they have been answered. He has selected Broncos owner Pat Bowlen to present him Aug. 2 at the Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.

It will be Bowlen's first time as a presenter. John Elway, the Broncos' only other Hall of Famer, chose his daughter Jessica to present him in 2004.

Zimmerman said Bowlen was his first and only choice.

"I think the world of him," said Zimmerman, who joined the Broncos in a trade from the Minnesota Vikings in 1993. He retired after the Broncos' first of two Super Bowl victories.

"Mr. Bowlen revived my career," Zimmerman said.

Bowlen said he was humbled by Zimmerman's decision.

"Gary meant so much to our team, and this will be a special moment," Bowlen said. "The Hall of Fame ceremony is always something special to me, but clearly this one will be especially important."

I was indifferent about going to Canton this year, because I only think of Zimmerman as a half-Bronco.

But while I knew he had said he considered himself a Bronco, this may put the stamp on it for me.

I may have to look into travel packages now. I don't know why picking Bowlen has me a little more excited, but for some reason it does.

Great news! This sends the message that he's going in as a Bronco. I know his relationship with the Vikes ended bad, but at least its a sure thing. And before you all remind me "you don't go in as a member of a team" your bust gets a lit up color picture of you as a player with it, so odds are that picture will be of Zim in the orange and blue. :)

At the HOF announcement, they had blown of HOF Topps cards of the inductees and Zim was in the old orange and blue.

At the HOF they're are a few places were the team is represented. In the actual Hall, by the busts, is a touch screen database of all the players in that has bio info and an NFL Films highlight real. I'd assume the main photo will be Denver. Also, there is a room where each team has a booth that lists all of its Hall of Famers, hopefully Zim will be added to Elway there as well.

Maybe Bowlen can throw a couple of jabs at the NFL for not having enough Broncos in it after he makes the speech.

Its important to remember that there are many worthy Broncos.

One of my favorite NFL clips from XXXII was Bowlen telling Zim in the locker room while he's holding the Lombardi Trophy, "aren't you glad we talked you out of retirement?"
