I dont get it because I'm sure the Dolphins are going to be a 3-4 but I woont question Bill Parcels because he KNOWS how to build a team.

Good riddance to bad linebacking.

That didn't take long.
Watch him actually do well with a quality defense scheme. Now that would be something to laugh at.

Parcells will expect him to play special teams.. and do it well.
He won't. He'll be off the team.

I think he would be a TON better 3-4 OLB than a 4-3 OLB.

Becasue of his massive frame long arms and strength at the point of attack?

This is a bit strange of a signing imo....I always had heard that 220lb LB's were too small to play LB in the 3-4 scheme--especially Parcells scheme--that they don't hold up at the point of attack b/c they are vulnerable on the perimeter in that scheme.....oh well...

Pretty sure that is a misprint, no way Ian Gold fits in a 3-4 and Miami jsut signed 3 3-4 OLB's, makes no sense, and nobody else is reporting it. I think they meant to put Reggie Trobor there and it's a mis print. He would be a terrible fit in Miami's 3-4.

Yeah ... Parcells does this everywhere he goes. He signs veterans as fill-ins, backups, special teamers.

Don't get too excited anyway, he hasn't signed there.

I agree the Phins signed Reggie Torbor, Calvin Pace and Charlie Anderson.
It's just a slip up on ESPN.

Yeah, it's not being reported anywhere else. Probably a ****up on their part.

I for one will be closely watching both Gold and Walker this upcoming season. Mostly to see if the problem is their lack of production or whether our scheme inhibited their performanece..
Should be interesting.

I think even the casual observer can say with some degree of certainty that 'production' is not a term often applied to Ian Gold in his return stint here in Denver.
As for Walker, money makes him happy...seems to validate his self-image.
Pay him enough & he'll produce...assuming Terrell Owens isn't elbowing him out of the route.

Not too mention that the first quality of a Parcells/Belichick LB is being able to TACKLE. And, despite ample cap space, just dumped an undersized LB who happened to be one of the greatest tacklers of all time.

Now here's the real question. With Gold off the roster, will DJ Williams go back to his old
jersey number? 52 seemed like a better fit than 55.
And keep him at MLB. Please.
