5th rounder or a sharp stick in the eye. I'm taking the 5th rounder and washing my hands of this issue.

You guys want to trade Walker for a 5th rounder?? That's stupid to do and even more stupid to want.

Shanny shouldn't trade him, pay him his bonus. Denver will be a worse team without him.

I think the final hammer fell right after the Minny game when Javon made those comments.

And from what Wabbit said about how the organization had some disagreements with regards to Javons rehab process and his decision to have surgery....

We all know the wrath of Shanahan

I love Javon too but Mike Shanahan makes the decisions, not us.

Great Scott! I think the Broncos did as well as they could with the player they had last year. I don't think you actually believe that the Broncos could have foreseen the new injury, and should have anticipated the attitude issues coming when it did.

Holy Foneco!!!! Seems like the Broncos cannot win with some people. Everything they do or don't do has a bunch of malcontents screaming both ways.

I am going to wait and see what happens before I criticize the organization. They have done me proud for a lot of years and I am sticking with them.....

Not over paying on the kind of gambles that have burned them in the past. In short, they are doing the right thing... for once.

Broncos front office (Shanny) does this every year. He lets the market do their thing, while he sets up visits for the following week (Boss Bailey) and then makes a few moves in week 2 and 3.

Trust me it's driven me nuts also. A few years ago the market was so crazy with dollars flying around that Shanny scrapped the free agent plan he had and went with the Brownies...

Sadly this is probably the truth.

I had visions of a Marshall, Walker, and Stokley new generation 3 Amigos as well, but those dreams have been shattered by the Emo-ness of Mike Shanahan.

With a terrible and embarrassing losing season last year, filled with players that really didnt' seem to care about winning or losing.

I'd say it's time to start to worry and complain a bit.

Dallas just signed Zack Thomas, resigned Adams and franchised Hamlin. If they get Javon and he is healthy, they are on my odds on team to win it all. They would have a lot of weapons.

That being said, we can't worry about who is playing for super bowl championships next year because we will not be. We will not be making a move for a quality DT unless through FA or the draft and with that move, the statement is made. I say take whatever we can get for Javon, a 5th rounder would be great.

I know it's better than nothing, but I'm still not that excited. I'd almost rather a conditional pick next year than Dallas' fifth rounder this year. In reality, it's only a few picks away from the sixth round because of the year they had. I wonder if they are even discussing the possibility of something like a sixth in 2009 that could become a 5th or up to a 4th based off playing time and performance. This would also lessen the sting if he does do well in 2008.

COWBOYS CALLING ON BELL? by Michael David Smith
Although he doesn't represent quite the kind of "wow" Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has vowed to add to his offense, running back Tatum Bell may be coming to Dallas.
ESPN.com is reporting that Dallas is showing interest in Bell (http://myespn.go.com/blogs/hashmarks/0-5-620/Bell-ringing-in-Dallas-.html), an unrestricted free agent who spent 2007 with the Detroit Lions.
Bell never looked like a good fit with the Lions, finishing his one and only season in Detroit with 182 yards. But in 2006, Bell's only year as a starter, he ran for 1,025 yards with the Broncos, and his pure speed could make him just the kind of player Jones craves.

I'd trade Javon for a conditional 7 rounder in 2085, it's better than nothing. Plus sending Javon out of the conference would be a nice bonus. Interestingly enough, there was a piece in the Post this morning that the Cowboys may be coming to Dove Valley to practice this summer.

Yeah, but at this point Atlas we have to take what we can get. If it were up to me, sure, we keep Javon and let him play for a contract year. However, Shanny is kicking Javon to the curb. That's a fact. Either we release him and take a huge salary cap hit, or we trade him and his crap attitude to someone else, even for a pittance, and they take his contract off our hands.

Please, for the love of god, even if it's only a 7th rounder, get this deal done and let's stop the bleeding in regards to Javon.

What's amusing is that the Packers selected Greg Jennings with Denver's pick in the second round in 2006.

I try to comfort myself by thinking about the fact that there probably would be no problem with Walker if Marshall hadn't turned out wildly better than one could reasonably have hoped. I don't think its quite so bad when you have to get rid of a player because he gets bent out of shape over another player beating him out.

They must have traded down or something? They had two picks in the 2nd round. One was used on Jennings.

Anyway, just another Shanny blunder.

I completely believe that Walker has never mentally or emotionally recovered from the DWill killing. I don't think he'll ever truly recover as a Denver Bronco.. it clearly has affected him quite deeply, and a change of scenery may be just what the doctor ordered.

I say we take whatever we can get.
