I wouldn't mind a Pears/Harris competition for LT, but we need a real RT, of which none are on the roster.

Just wait though. We'll shoehorn Kuper into the role and expect Hamilton to be 100% despite having his brain dented in last summer and missing all season.

I bet Engelberger makes Pears his bi*ch on a daily basis at practice.

I didn't think pears looked near as good at RT as he did late the first yr in the NFL at LT. Wierd because you would think LT more difficult.

I'd rather have whoever Denver has playing LT this year than Adams. What do you think that 6 year contract is worth? $40-$50 Million would be my guess.

He gets too many penalties against him, He is too old, too fat and too slow, especially for Denver's system.

Has anyone seen this guy try to bend over? He looks like it's a struggle to reach his knees. If he makes it halfway through another contract I'll be rather suprised. His body is breaking down fast and it hasn't been in good shape in a few years.

I'm sure the deal is in reality a 2 or 3 year deal, because there is no way he'll see 4 more years with his body.

Its not weird at all when you consider that Pears is 6'8", barely breaks 300 on the scales, and his strongest skill is his lateral mobility and leverage.

Lateral mobility and leverage don't do **** for you if a 300 pound power end is just looking to shove you back into your QB or RB, whomever he can drive you into first. But against the 250-270 pound speedsters who predominantly play RDE in the NFL its a godsend because they can't use superior speed and athleticism to beat him around the corner.

He's a poor man's Joe Thomas. And thats a pretty poor man. Joe Thomas is a hell of a talent, but much like Pears his skills focus around handling speed rushers and they can't handle the more power oriented right side of the line.

Harris is pretty much the same way. Not a lot of power there either. If he want either one of Harris or Pears to not suck completely they need to be at LT. We should all be praying for Jake Long to slide to #12, he's a born RT that everyone keeps trying to sell as an RT. Otherwise I'm hoping pick #42 is used on an RT with some real power who can also move out of his own way.

Pears was the weak link of the OL last year, but he is young and hopefully he has more room to grow. I hope they move him back to LT to compete with Harris for the job and move Kuper to RT to compete with a rookie for the RT job and move Hamilton back at Guard and wallah Denver is set!
