Check it out http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7843028/First-round-mock-draft:-Dorsey's-stock-falling

I know what you're thinking Mock draft= nothing. I agree if you look at our pick
they have us taking Ryan Clady, I would take Kenny Phillips and upgrade on D.
But it is interesting to see that there might be something bubbling between the
chiefs and Croyle

But Croyle's so much better than Cutler ROFL

Brodie Croyle is every other teams MVP. He is good for at least a touchdown for the opposition.

How does a mock from someone as uninformed as Chris Steuber mean we're giving up on Croyle?

If the Chiefs are serious about rebuilding, and it seems they are with all the old-timers they are cutting, it's the perfect time for them to grab a franchise quarterback since they are in a prime spot to grab one.

Unfortunately for them, this year's quarterback class seems very weak.

I love these Mocks... Call me crazy but the Dolphins have bigger need than Defensive End with Taylor and Joey Porter. I would personally be shocked to see Howie's son go to the Dolphins. My bet is they trade down and stockpile picks.

The problem is that with this draft there doesn't appear to be the standout number one pick that you trade up for.

And teams really don't want to trade up to the number one spot and have to shell out that dough unless there is a player you just cannot pass up, especially if it's a franchise quarterback.

This draft is not the draft to make such a move IMO.

Boob if the Chefs are going to sink or swim with Croyle why does Hermy flip flop between him and Huard. Seems to me he is screwing up the whole thing. As unpopular as it was to some here when Plummer was replaced by Cutler shanny never went back. Herm on the other hand isn't that patient.

I have to admit that Croyle's arm strength surprised me since seeing him play in the pro's. I don't ever remember watching him at Alabama and noticing it. Still, he ain't nothing special and they might as well get another dude to back him up .

You may be right but I still think the Dolphins will be drafting something other than a defensive end, unless, they get rid of Joey Porter or Jason Taylor.

You have to think that this guy doesn't know what he is talking about.
He even states that Brohm is better than Ryan. I seem to remember that the combine blogs stating that Brohm is a wienee arm.
I can't see the Chiefs taking a QB with the number 5 pick. They have so many holes (especially since they cut about 8 players so far) to fill. As bad as Brodie is, he isn't going to be replaced...........................this year.

It sounds like you don't know what you're talking about. Herm never waffled with Croyle. Not once. He never sat him for any other reason than injury. He was the declared starter from Indianapolis onwards.

I'm not really sure why you people think Croyle sucks. He was forced into the worst situation last year imaginable. I won't judge the kid until he has a decent running game behind him and a decent offensive line in front of him.

theAPAOps5
02-27-2008, 06:14 PM
Well Bobo you are the expert on the Queefs so I won't argue as I was only subjected to 2 of their games this past year. But I could have swore he pulled Croyle a couple times after bad plays in a game. Maybe its the other way around.

No, never. Not once.

Croyle started every game Indianapolis on forward, save once. That was due to injury. He got yanked in Detroit because of an injury.

Inkana7
02-27-2008, 06:21 PM
But he's not injury prone. Of course not.

boltaneer
02-27-2008, 06:24 PM
I've bashed Croyle in the past (I just don't see anything that special about him and he's just too injury prone) but I will agree that you have to give him more time. And yes, he was in a bad situation last year but put the homer glasses aside because things certainly don't look any better this year and IMO look worse.

IMO, just for argument's sake, even if the Chiefs make the right moves and their draft picks pan out, they're still a couple of years away from making even a serious wild-card run. Just look at the AFC. It's a pretty loaded conference right now. I thought Cleveland was pretty deserving of a wild card spot and even Buffalo to some extent this year but the competition is just so fierce right now.

Back to the point, even if all of the above pans out for the Chiefs, in a couple of years Croyle's welcome may be worn out and they'll be looking for a true franchise quarterback to draft (if they don't do it this year).

I just think the odds are really against Croyle becoming a star QB. He's just in a horrible situation right now. Maybe he gets another shot in the future on another team in a better environment.

How do you figure?

Last year we had the worst running game in the NFL. We had a horrible offensive coordinator. Our most experienced WR went down on the first play of the season.

There's nowhere to go but up.

It doesn't change the fact that Croyle's future doesn't look promising as long as he is in KC.

Look at Herm's track record. He has never fielded a good offense.

Using that logic, Philip Rivers' future in San Diego is equally bleak. Norv Turner has never won a damn thing.

Nice deflection. Stick to the topic.

But I'll bite anyway... I think he won something as an OC in Dallas.

Plus he went further as a HC than Herm ever did just this past season. :flower:

Looks to me like Chris Steuber needs to learn the facts before he makes a mock draft.

"Personally, I don't think Matt Ryan is the best QB in the draft. I believe Brian Brohm is the best and safest QB selection in the draft. With that said, the Chiefs front office has strong ties to the Philadelphia and Northeast region and have studied Ryan's game significantly. Kansas City has other needs and could grab Dorsey at this pick, but Ryan is favored by the front office and will give incumbent QB Brodie Croyle competition."

Ha what a joke. If this guy did his research, then he would have known that KC's front office loves Croyle. He should have also listened when Herm said that he didn't think there was a franchice QB in this draft.

KC will be building its offensive line this year through FA and the draft.

I don't see how Matt Ryan is any better than Croyle.

Both are mobile QB's
Ryan is only 2 inches and 6 lbs heavier than Croyle. Not a big difference at all.
Both played well in college.
Both are mentally tough

One big difference is that Croyle has a much stronger arm than Ryan. Croyle is a gunslinger. Ryan is not.

Both played well in college? Are you ****ing delrious? Alabama had a killer defense and that is what won them ball games. The beat Utah State 35-3 when Utah State was ranked 119th in the nation dead ****ing last! They beat Tennesee that year by putting up a whopping 6 points. (6-3).
