Faulk arrested for marijuana possession
According to Louisiana station KATC, Patriots running back Kevin Faulk was arrested for misdemeanor marijuana possession on Friday night.

Faulk, a team captain last season, was at the Cajundome for a concert featuring rapper Lil Wayne and a random security check turned up four joints.

He is the second Patriots player this month to be cited for marijuana -- just days after the team's Super Bowl loss, special teams standout Willie Andrews was arrested in Lowell, Mass.

Lil Wayne is one person I'd like to personally remove from the face of this earth.

Last I checked, it was illegal. You realize that, right? You can argue the morality or lack thereof all you want. But the legality of it is black and white.

Your only making criminals out of decent people who smoke out.

I hit it once and a while, never been into any trouble.

Two were for his buddy Ontario Smith. Faulk brought the weed, Smith brought the wizzinator.

That's just the way it is...breaking the law is criminal, no matter what law it is that is being broken.

Irrelevant. It's a crime. There are a lot of laws with which I don't necessarily agree. Telling a judge, "I think this law is stupid" doesn't make you less of a criminal after he convicts you.

The original comment I made was intended to be glib - a shot at the Patriots, more than anything else. I'm pretty surprised anyone would comment on it, as it's completely non-subjective. I don't really have a strong opinion about the merits of legalizing marijuana - but today, it's a crime. Thus, if you are convicted of possessing it, you are a criminal.

My point is that "criminal" is a strong word. Regardless of the technicality of it

Great.

It's still illegal, making you a criminal. That's pretty cut and dry, not really any gray area there.

Criminal is a word describing the act or a person who breaks the law...no technicality about it.

Well, I guess there's a connotation to it. But by definition, it's non-subjective - "of or pertaining to crime."

It'd be something else if the comment was, "he's a scumbag;" or, "he's a degenerate." Those terms are subjective. It would be easier to argue the "cheater" label than the "criminal" one. A person committing a crime is, by definition, a criminal - regardless of the severity of the crime.

But, as I've said - I don't really care about any of that. I just like being able to make poop on anything Boston sports-related.

Dude, you are being WAY too sensitive about a comment that no one intended as an insult.

"Offense taken, where none is intended, is fool's work."

This thread is about Patriots disdain. I haven't seen a single post intended to be judgmental to anyone here.

Criminal is a word describing the act or a person who breaks the law...no technicality about it.

Many police officers have gotten speeding tickets. Does that make them criminals? They broke the law. What about someone sells something on Ebay and doesn't claim the 500 bucks they made on taxes. That's against the law, are they criminals? I think saying if you break a law that makes you a criminal is a little harsh. You can break a law without being a criminal. Being a criminal describes someone who breaks the law as a means to and end, for money, to live etc. You can chop down a tree and not be a lumberjack, you can drive a car fast, that doesn't make you a race car driver, you can break a law and not be a criminal. That word should be reserved for people that participate in crime as a way of life.

This is one of the main reasons this country has so many "criminals" behind bars, all these hard core bad guys who posses some personal amounts of the evil weed.
