Clintonite Stabs Obama Supporter
Cops: Man assaulted brother-in-law during political argument
FEBRUARY 25--Meet Jose Antonio Ortiz. The Pennsylvania man allegedly stabbed his brother-in-law in the stomach after the pair quarreled about their respective support of Democratic presidential candidates Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. According to cops, Ortiz, 28, stabbed Sean Shurelds last Thursday night in the kitchen of an Upper Providence Township home. According to a criminal complaint, a copy of which you'll find here, the 41-year-old Shurelds, an Obama supporter, told Ortiz that the Illinois senator was "trashing" Clinton (apparently in regard to recent primary and caucus results). Ortiz, a Clinton supporter, replied that "Obama was not a realist." While not exactly fighting words, the verbal political tiff led to some mutual choking and punching. And, allegedly, a stabbing in the abdomen. Ortiz, pictured in the mug shot below, was charged with a felony aggravated assault count and two misdemeanors and jailed in lieu of $20,000 bail. Shurelds was flown to Hahnemann University Hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition. (2 pages)

It's a racial and sexual powderkeg out there among the Democrats. The feminists are mad that the First Woman Candidate is getting dissed by her own party. The Blacks are mad that the Clintons are dissing one of their own and trying to steal the nomination from him. The Jews says they won't vote for a quasi-Muslim. The Latinos and Asians are said to be lining up with Hillary because they don't trust the Black guy. The there's Sen. Robert Byrd and his leftover remnants of the KKK.

It's just a shame there are no Republicans running this year...

The funniest part about the whole thing is, besides their gender and race, there isn't that much difference between them. I could see something like this happening between a liberal and conservative (only difference being the legally armed conservative would have shot the hippie, wicker sandal wearing liberal)

well it'd be nice if we had a black conservative running against a female conservative who were identical twins when it came to policy.

This whole son of a bitchin election season is just depressing.

Don't let any of this fool you. Once a nominee is chosen, Democrats will line up, millions upon millions, and make their parties' choice President. Eight intolerable years of Bush the wonder chimp have made that possible.

Believe this: 90% of Democrats will have no qualms over voting for Hillary or Obama. I know they're both all right by me.

Sadly, just as many people will line up to vote against Hillary (because she's a woman) or Barak because he's black.

Also, conservatives and republicans will show up for McCain. Not because they like him, but because he's the best option. The right isn't just going to sit this out.

Because of that, if you think this election is going to be a landslide you're in for a shock. It will come down to the wire, with one or two states deciding it at the end.

Not all of the Right, but some of them will. Enough to make a sizable difference. Look at the Dem voter turnout vs. the GOP. Wouldn't they turnout to put a decent canidate in there? Romney and Huckabee were palatable to some. The reality is, the GOP is so turned off by their own party that a sizable amount will stay home, switch sides, or vote third party.

And then we can add to an energized democratic party two candidates that bring a new dynamic to the table. I think it is safe to say that Dem voter turnout will be up, and the GOP will be down. Also, I think Obama (I am going to speculate that he wins the nomination) can win some states that have been red for a while. Specifically, I think that Georgia, South Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama, Iowa, and Texas will all be in play for the Democrats this year. McCain will have to work harder, cover more ground, and will not be able to push into any Democratic strongholds.

So, while I do not think it will be a landslide victory, I do think it will be decisive.

I'm curious if McCain will reach across the aisle and choose a Republican as his running mate. It would sure be outside-the-box thinking on his part.

I think there was a stabbing or two in the "Does Obama Hate America" thread between a few of our locals. Very amusing.Ha!

The RNC is already having focus groups trying to determine how far they think they should go (without seeming racist) during the general elections if Obama is the candidate. It'll be interesting to watch.

My guess is that most republicans feel like I felt in 2004. John Kerry wasn't someone I was truly excited about, and the same can be said for Mac-Cane.

Stabbed in Obama v Clinton argument

February 26, 2008 - 9:13AM

A US man stabbed his relative after an argument over the presidential credentials of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Brothers-in-law Jose Ortiz and Sean Shurelds were arguing about the fiery contest for the Democratic nomination for president at their Pennsylvania home when the dispute escalated into violence, US broadcaster CBS said.

US authorities said Ortiz, a registered Republican and Clinton supporter, allegedly stabbed Mr Shurelds, an Obama supporter, in the stomach, CBS said.

Mr Shurelds was flown to hospital and was in a critical condition. Ortiz was jailed and, if convicted of a crime, will be unable to vote in the election next year, the broadcaster said.

The contest between Senator Obama and Senator Clinton has been on a knife edge, and in recent days each candidate has accused the other of using shameful campaign tactics.

But it doesn't matter - spdirty claimed a Democrat did the stabbing when it was really a Republican.

This kind of reminds me of that "mistake" Faux News made when they put a 'D' after Mark Foley's name.

Don't get too alarmed, however, the repub's will eventually line up behind McCain.....same ole, same ole, the question will be who gets their party to come out and vote or not. I will say, if Obama gets the nod, he will get LOTS more repubs to the voting booth in an attempt to ensure he doesn't get elected. Hillary? who knows, I'm thinking it's a tossup if she gets the nod...dman

Sometimes the party one registers in is to have more say in *local* elections where one party is dominant and the other isn't. No Republicans win where I live in city and county elections, for example, so if I'm going to have my vote count in the primaries, I have to vote Democrat whether I like to or not.
