As the franchise player, Haynesworth gets a one-year contract worth $7.25 million.

Under provisions of the current collective bargaining agreement, they now have until July 15 to strike a long-term deal. After that date, Haynesworth can play under a one-year contract that cannot be extended until after the last game of the regular season.

Biddest loss for us though, since few I think expected him to hit the market anyway, is the fact that his absence will drive up the price on Corey Williams.

Well there goes that dream.

How much do you think that dream would cost on the open market? $20 million in guaranteed money? Six-to-seven year deal that would pay $60-70 million in base salaries?

Good. Eliminates any temptation of the FO to go sign the guy and keeps my hopes alive of not bringing in one UFA (ok, thats unlikely but I want minimal spending at the most).

Yeah I wouldn't mind us doing nothing. I'd like to take a step back on free agents and clear the cap waste.

Pretty much agree kaylore, but I do think they have to sign a vet OT, even a 2nd teir guy. Can't go into the season with Pears, Harris and a rookie.

I wouldn't call him a head case. He stompped on a dudes head but there was an excellent article about how he dealt with that. He actually went to therapy for it and met up with a guy who teaches DL guys how to combat cut blocks using a style that incorporates hand to hand combat technique.

Don't get me wrong he crossed a line but he also dealt with it in a manner most people would be embarrased to admit or even try.
