i'm of the opinion that we trade down to the second and up to the second for most of our choices. if we get 3 starters/contributors alone, the draft is a win.

Klis is much much better at the mailbag than Burger Bill.
Jeff - Let's break football fans into 32 groups, one for each NFL team. Now let's remove the group of Patriot fans. From the other 31 groups of fans, my unofficial survey found at least 95 percent spent Super Bowl XLII rooting not necessarily for the New York Giants, but for the team that happened to be playing against the Patriots.
The other 5 percent were those who bet on the Patriots and laid the 12 points.
I have yet to meet a person who hasn't marveled, "What a great Super Bowl that was!" No one ever describes a game as great

if his or her team lost.
I've been following sports since 1966, and I don't think I've ever encountered a team that so many people wanted to see lose. To the Patriots' credit, nobody hates them if they're 8-8 instead of 18-0. But many fans were like you, Jeff, in they were revolted by the thought New England cheated by illegally videotaping opposing coaches.
Personally, I didn't think spying had anything to do with 18-0. But I did have two problems with the Pats' pursuit of perfection: 1. Belichick's mean-spirited decision to run up the score on opponents earlier in the season; 2. I didn't think the 2007 Pats were great enough to carry the historical mantle as the greatest ever.
Even if the Pats had been great enough to be greatest, and even if they didn't cheat past the first quarter of the season-opening game, America does not like bullies. Belichick was a bad sport in many victories, and a bad sport for leaving the field a tick early in his lone defeat.
I pretty much agree with all of this. The number of people rooting for the pats consisted of Patriots fans, guys who bet on the over, and a very few who thought they wanted to witness history not realizing how terrible it would have been had they won.

And the few who had to go against the crowd to show their superior football knowledge as if rooting for NE wasn't the safe bet...

Oh, and he has a very interesting strategy in trading away low picks for one higher pick... but can the Broncos' special teams handle such a mentality? They need above average athletes for ST as much as they need playmakers for their actual squads. You can't fill your team with superstars and waiver wires, that's just too much inbalance, I'd think.

Dear Mike Klis: When are the Broncos bringing back the vertical striped socks? Thanks, Kaylore
Dear Kaylore, Normaly I would dress you down for such a ridiculous question, but it just so happens that next season, 2009, is the 50th Anniversary of the old AFL, and the league has plans to commemorate the anniversary with throwback uniforms and other festivities. - Mike
Dear Mike Klis, Where can I buy a 1960 mustard and brown Broncos throwback jersey? You see, it's my birthday, and I want to treat myself to something nice. Thanks, Khan
Dear Khan, Are you related to that Kaylore guy in some way? Because these are the first two letters in mailbag history concerning those awful uniforms. My best advice would be to purchase a heavy duty mustard color jersey, then visit a local fabric store with your mom and buy brown fabric to cut into numerals. - Mike

NFL Network's Total Access just reported the Mike Klis Mailbag info on Henry and Walker as if it were "breaking news."

looking at the draft and how nfl teams now value RB's, this would be the year to do it
