The 26-year-old has appeared in two regular-season games for his career, seeing time with the 49ers as a rookie during their final two contests of the 2004 season.
After Atlanta waived him on June 12, Hamilton spent the first part of the 2007 season out of the NFL before signing with Tampa Bay’s practice squad on Oct. 23. He was with the Buccaneers for one week and finished the year on Houston’s practice squad after signing with the Texans on Nov. 21.

Holdman is a vet who was signed last offseason and expected to compete with DD Lewis and Nate Webster for the starting SLB position. Holdman has a scary next injury in camp that put him out for the season.
I don't know much about Hamilton except that he's bounced around and been on a few practice squads.

The classic big body WCO WR. A 3rd rounder, so he has talent, wonder if he has put the injury bug behind him.

I will never trust a stat after seeing what Watts put up before leaving college and forgetting how to catch.

What a badass:
While supposedly nursing his damaged knee, Hamilton did not participate in summer training activities. During this time, he was seen dunking in a charity basketball game. Early in training camp, Hamilton injured his hamstring and barely participated in workouts.
And these wikipedia people are nuts. His wiki already has him as a Bronco.
SI's draft info on him:
40 Time: 4.51
BIO: Second team all-conference selection in ‘03 as both a wide receiver and return specialist. Finished with receiving numbers of 62/1,026/10 while averaging 7.5 yards on 29 punt returns and 34.5 yards on 11 kick returns with an additional score. Junior receiving totals were 52/602/2 with a 10.8 average on 35 punt returns. Led the ACC in all purpose yards in 2002. Production numbers his first season included 53/684/4 as a receiver, and an average of 31.7 yards on 15 kick returns. Awarded all-academic honors in the past.
POSITIVES: Elusive and explosive skill player that impacts the game handling the ball. Quickly releases off the line of scrimmage, runs sharp routes and consistently gets separation from defenders. Finds the open spot in the field, gets vertical then extends to grab the errant throw. Can double cut and displays top footwork. Tracks the deep ball, looks the pass in and effective running after the reception. Follows blocks down the field and slides through the smallest openings in the defense.
NEGATIVES: Plays a timid brand of football; gathers into receptions if he’s going to get hit and does not win out in battles. Does not always catch the pass cleanly and lets the ball get inside him. More quick than fast and not a true burner.
ANALYSIS: While he must get stronger and toughen up, Hamilton has the skills which translate well to the next level. Would be a perfect fit in a West Coast offensive system or even a solid number two wide out that plays along side a big-bodied receiver. Abilities as a return specialist will slide into the draft's first day.

So that put Denver about 20 million under right?

I'd say around that after you factor in Lepsis' retirement, Engelberger hitting FA and counting only 2 of the 18 future's contracts we gave as only 51 players will count against the cap come March 1st.

I'm more excited about having this guy forming a wedge for whoever is returning kicks. Having big bodies who can run will help in that area. If he can make enough noise to be a decent third or fourth receiver than that's just gravy.
I think he is too timid just from what i've read to be sticking him in the wedge kaylore...should be interesting to see what he can do though.
I sense some real unfounded training camp hype coming from this guy...

DERRICK HAMILTON
After sitting out the 2005 and 2006 seasons with a knee injury, Derrick Hamilton is looking to make his mark on the NFL just as he did in college.
In just three seasons with the Clemson Tigers, Derrick Hamilton left quite a big mark in their record book. After securing the all-time record in receptions, kickoff returns and all-purpose yardage, Hamilton decided to head to the National Football League. Clemson wide receivers coach Dabo Swinney feels that “whoever gets him is going to get a great player. I think he will come in and find a home and play early."
The 2003 NCAA season proved to be an outstanding season for Hamilton. As one of the top three Clemson receivers, he led the Tigers with 62 catches for 1,026 yards and 10 touchdowns. Not only did he end up breaking multiple school records with those numbers, he helped lead the Clemson Tigers to a Peach Bowl Championship. His 58-yard punt return put the Tigers in great field position and the team never looked back.
In his sophomore year, Hamilton led the ACC in all-purpose yards, becoming the first league champion from Clemson in that category since 1997. He ave raged 144.8 yards per game and had four 200-yard games for the season. Hamilton also set an all-time Clemson single-season record and an ACC record for a sophomore by reaching 1,883 all-purpose yards for the season. Coach Tommy Bowden was very impressed after just two seasons. "He's got a very unique running style because he looks like he runs straight up and his body looks like he's got no spine. He just looks like Jell-O." He was best known for his 77-yard run against Georgia Tech, which was the longest run by an ACC player in 2002 and the longest run by a Clemson player since 1993.
Hamilton finished off his first year at Clemson the same way as his last. He led the team in receptions (53) and reception yards (684) as a red-shirt freshman. Hamilton also began his list of honors by being named the Second-team freshman All-America receiver by The Sporting News, Offensive Rookie-of-the-Year by the Tiger coaching staff and first-team Academic All-ACC. He started 10 games and averaged 51 plays per game.
Derrick Hamilton majored in Human Resources Development while attending Clemson University. He attended high school at Dillon High, in Dillon, SC, where he lettered in both football and basketball.
Sorry things didn't workout for Holdman. Bruising a spinal chord isn't like tearing a ligament or breaking a bone. I had high hopes for him being the strong side backer in camp last year.
He just needs to move own with life after football.
Derrick Hamilton ? Just another camp body?
Not another camp body.... The missing link to a superbowl title!!!
