Jeff Goodman has been named Assistant General Manager of the Denver Broncos, the team announced Friday.

Goodman will assist General Manager Ted Sundquist in all duties associated with the position. He enters his third season with the Broncos, having spent the previous two years as a college scout evaluating the Southeast region for the franchise.

Before joining the Broncos, Goodman gained considerable experience in contract negotiations during three years as an associate in the law firm of Balch & Bingham LLP in Birmingham, Ala. In that capacity, he worked in the firm's litigation section and its sports agency and regulation practice area.

A former wide receiver at the University of Florida, Goodman earned a bachelor's degree from Florida in business management in 2000 and a juris doctorate degree from Florida State University in 2003.

Scout in the SEC, maybe this is the man that got us Cutler. So he has been here though the last 2 drafts, both good. I like this guy already.

Ed Lambert and his connections to Vanderbilt were able to help us get Cutler. He was also evaluating the region when we selected Marshall.

This is Jim's son.

Nepotism at it's best.

Does that mean Shanahan will be taking a lesser role as far as GM duties?

Shanahan has never met a Florida Wideout he doesn't like.

Or, could they be grooming a successor to Sundquist?

Well my jokes are definitely that dumb. Jury still out on me. ;D

As Goob already referenced Jeff Goodman....I was referring to Jeff Gordon something or another....I don't follow the 'turn left' league.

It's worth noting some of our best draft choices recently have come from that area...Chris Myers, Elvis Dumervil, Jay Cutler, Brandon Marshall, Marcus Thomas and Jarvis Moss. D-Will and Crowder might be in there as well depending on how they divide up the southeast.

Not sure how much Goodman has to do with that, but it is encouraging.

That's a good point. Maybe that's what this is about. Maybe it's to force Sundquist out. I know that Mediator hates Sundquist and blames the state of our defense line, and Coyer's demise, on Sundquist. We'll have to see how this pans out.

Glad they did this. What this team needs is more managers. Do we have a coach in charge of footwear yet? How about a manager in charge of Gatorade?

It's John Goodman

You have been around since 2004 and still dont understand the smiley face at the end as in to say ," hey, I called you out for the wrong name and now I will do it also to be funny and then see if someone like 2kback cant figure out the joke!" Yes, I know the fat actor is John and not Jeff Goodman. Just like he put that he thought it was Nascar driver Jeff Goodman and not Jeff Gordon. Ph people, work with me here.

This is the first actual "scoop" I have seen around here in a while. This doesn't appear on any other sports sites yet.

More of our "Orangemane Insiders" at work I guess.

But does he work on Shabbos? That might effect that draft if he can't throw in his input on who we should pick.

Denver's biggest needs this offseason

1. We are very thin on Scapegoats this needs to be addressed often and early this offseason.

2. LT

3. S

4. LB

5. WR

I don't know if they need a manger in charge of Gatorade they already have a guy that monitors side line refreshment ice melt.

most of them were Casserly....so again, what has Smith done?

He overpaid for Shaub, signed a useless Ahman Green, and it's too early to tell about his one draft....yet, he is the second coming of Ron Wolf? Please.....
