Hate to start a new thread everytime there is some FA news. Since this has some impact on the Broncos, I'll start a new thread. Perhaps we can just add news/rumors to this thread rather than creating a new one every time?

"Jared would welcome the opportunity to play in front of his hometown crowd," said Ken Harris, Allen's agent. "His family is up north. I have no doubt he has a high level of interest in playing (for the 49ers)."

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald said during an interview with a Philadelphia radio show that the Philadelphia Eagles are one of four teams he'd like to play for if traded according to Profootballtalk.com.

It remains to be seen whether the Cardinals will try to trade Fitzgerald. Due to escalators in his contract, he's scheduled to earn salaries of $14.59 million in 2008 and $17.355 million in 2009. That's nearly $32 million over two years, and then he'll hit the open market at only 26 years of age.

This one is better than the Shanny to Atlanta Rumor!

Quote:
Some are speculating that the Redskins might be considering a run at Patriots coach Bill Belichick, who could be inclined to move on if his team secures its fourth Super Bowl win in seven years via a perfect 19-0 season.
But such speculation overlooks the fact that Belichick would want to run the show anywhere that he goes. In Washington, no coach is going to run the show -- as evidenced by the fact that the Redskins are already hiring the guys who'll be working for the coach who eventually is hired. This approach necessarily runs off any potential head coach who is inclined to call all of the shots.

They backed themselves into a corner on that one. He'd be a complete fool to restructure that and they'd be fools to pay it.

EDIT: and they can't even trade that contract, he'll be released I'd bet.

That's trouble in the making right there. I figured Johnson would make a shot at the Eagles, where they have always proven they want a star receiver - and pass a lot. They are bound to have sub-per QB play next year in Miami, and that would sure lead to a disgruntled media star like Johnson.

Sounds like Chad wants to play for ANYBODY but the Bengals...not that I blame him

Ocho Stinko has basically said he'd play for anyone. He has even said he go to Oakland. He's a dipsh%t

Wow, If the Chefs lost Allen that would be so huge. He is by far the best football player on that team. To have him walk away would be a back breaker.

They can still trade him, his new team would require a new deal or restructure.

I don't think there's any issues between Fitz and AZ, it's just the contract. Fitz would be just as dumb to restructure elsewhere as he would be to restructure in AZ.

I believe Peterson said a long time ago that Jared Allen wasn't leaving, that they'd use the franchise tag if they had to.

That makes sense.
