Hopefully, the Charger organization provides plenty of tissues for that team.

The Chargers are nothing but a big bunch of babies.... This isn't the first time they have wined after games. They did the same thing after the Tenn game in the regular season.

Any team that features Igor Olshansky on their roster has no right to talk about cheap shots.

The Chuggers likely deserved what they got.

Looks like Osi Umenyiora is getting in on the "Pats play dirty" talk:

HBO's media relations staff passes along the following from this week's Inside the NFL show, in which Giants DE Osi Umenyiora is interviewed and stirs the pot regarding Patriots left tackle Matt Light:

Osi Umenyiora: “It was a good match up the last time. I mean, I think I got him a couple of times, he also got me a couple of times. It was a war out there and to be honest with you, I not quite sure that he thought that he was going to see me again because of some of the things he did and said during that game. But, you know, unfortunately he does have to see me again.”

Bob Costas: “Trash talking is one thing, you seem to be implying that he made some dirty moves. Did something happen outside the pale?”

Osi Umenyiora: “He was doing a couple of things that you know he shouldn’t have been.”

Bob Costas: “Like what?”

Osi Umenyiora: “Hitting after the delay and trying to, I don’t know if he was trying to intimidate me, I don’t know what he was trying to do, but he did a couple of things that he shouldn’t have done and, you know, now we are really going to go at it this time.”

Bob Costas: “Were there angry words?”

Osi Umenyiora: “A couple.”

When asked if the Patriots were a dirty team, Umenyiora said: "I wouldn’t call them a dirty team, I wouldn’t say that. I haven’t really experienced them as a team to be dirty. They have certain individuals like I am sure we have certain individuals who are perceived to be dirty but people wouldn’t call them a dirty team.”

This play really pissed me off because I know damn well that San Diego would have drawn a penalty had they done it to Tom Brady. Does anybody want to stand up and deny that officiating routinely favors the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots? I'm not trying to blame our loss last Sunday on it, I just think it should be discussed more than it is.

Yes, that was a cheap shot and should have been called. Not sure if that type of play warrants a fine after the fact but it doesnt help the Chargers regarding what could have been for that drive.

You cant blame the refs. This same club (with lesser talent) beat you in your own house last year at this time. This one play didnt change the outcome and ive seen plenty of players occasionally (including Bronco players) stick a leg out in a attempt to trip another player. Maybe a ref didnt see it did you ever consider that? There is a lot of crap that goes on throughout a game that never gets called.

And did you give a rats ass when the NG cheated a win away from us seveal years ago ? no you smiled and loved every second of it !!!!

hell the leauge has a East cost bypass ... they changed rules up so indy could win the SB ! they changed the blocking rules so the broncos would not be as effective and it has worked like they wanted !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here ise deal in the end teams need to adjust but the ones that do are the ones that win . all teams cheat:thanku: . I just hope our team gets better at cheating .If I was your team I would not do much but I sure would drive up the price of Rrandy Moss even if I did not sign m ! Here is the deal your team is set to go to the SB next year it is up to them .

Roll your eyes all you want, you brought up the incident in the first place. Ive already stated that every team gets calls one way or another. Hell, we dont even know if the ref even saw that particular play. And your going to sit here and dwell on a leg whip? Thats comical.

I don't really care to dwell too deep into the officials being pro-New England argument (Because the bottom line is that you're not going to beat the Patriots by scoring 12 poitns. There were far more important reasons why they lost that game.) but I will say this, I find it extremely difficult to believe that the referee did not see that leg whip when he is specifically watching for any illegal hit on the quarterback. That's his sole job once there is a defender anywhere near the quarterback on a pass play.

Or maybe he's just incompetent.

http://www.nfl.com/rulebook/jurisdiction

Referee—General oversight and control of game. Gives signals for all fouls and is final authority for rule interpretations. Takes a position in backfield 10 to 12 yards behind line of scrimmage, favors right side (if quarterback is right-handed passer). Determines legality of snap, observes deep back(s) for legal motion. On running play, observes quarterback during and after handoff, remains with him until action has cleared away, then proceeds downfield, checking on runner and contact behind him. When runner is downed, Referee determines forward progress from wing official and, if necessary, adjusts final position of ball.

On pass plays, drops back as quarterback begins to fade back, picks up legality of blocks by near linemen. Changes to complete concentration on quarterback as defenders approach. Primarily responsible to rule on possible roughing action on passer and if ball becomes loose, rules whether ball is free on a fumble or dead on an incomplete pass.

You're missing my point. That leg-whip that I posted is one example of many, and it's affected a lot more teams than just mine. Every team gets breaks with officiating sometimes. Obiviously, it's not a perfect world and **** happens. However, it doesn't happen as consistantly to some teams as it does to others. You can go through every penalty called in favor of the Colts and be ticky tacky and say ya, that was technically a penalty, but the fact that the list of favorable calls for them is substantially higher than it is for other teams is troubling to me.

If you look back at our SB teams of 98/99 we had guys that would intimidate. Atwater/Romo/ Nasty olineman/Sharp trash talking.

When it was our team we called it "Swagger". When it's another team we call it "Dirty". Just sayin.

The Chargers score 2 TDs on two of the FOUR trips in the redzone and they win the game, maybe . . .

Norv lost his nerve, playing the highest scoring team in NFL history and he doesn't EVER go for it on 4th down?

Punts 3 times in New England territory?

The team played it's heart out, I'll give them that, yes, even a-hole Rivers, but the Norv factor did them in.

There are calls that suck in just about every game, but they don't seem to consistantly work in favor of teams the way they have for New England and especially Indy.

I think those sentiments have been expressed on here a number of times in the past. It seems to me that the last time the Pats put together a great season and ran to the SB, I noticed that the 5 yd rule for contact with a receiver seemed to apply to the DBs of the other 31 teams in the league and not to NE. It seemed they mugged many a receiver going down the field and there was no flag.

I personally dont see a huge conspiracy. What I am guessing is that these teams have figured out a way to hide it, coupled with talking to the refs before the game and asking them to focus on their concerns that take their attention away from the action that they want to hide. I guess its a lot more gamesmanship in a part of the sport that no one wants to openly talk about.

To me, the bottom line was that the Boltz moved the ball well, but had to settle for FGs instead of touchdowns. Teams that consistently fail to punch it in for 6 usually do lose.
