The Broncos trade our 1 ,2 for New England first and second. The Broncos Draft Sedrick Elllis and Anthony Collins . New England drafts Jenkins and Henderson. Works out good for both teams. The Broncos could also add a Early 3 rounder by trading Fowworth and a Early second by traded our 2009 first rounder.

No thank you.
I'm still unfortunately in "win now" mode.

Sedrick Ellis reminds too much of Bunkley. He may end up being a stud but I'd rather not move up for him. Keith Rivers sounds like a physical freak. He's added some weight which is great to see. Add another 10 lbs and he has the size that you love to have in a LB.
Anybody know anything about Ryan Clady?

I'm opposed to trading up for anyone. Say what you will, I wouldn't have been happy if we'd sold the farm for Reggie Bush, I wouldn't have been happy if we'd done it last year for Calvin Johnson... I wouldn't have even done it for Adrian Peterson; I think having a well balanced, talented team is worth more than having a superstar. Superstars don't play STs very often, a roster full of quality players can.

Add some football talent while you're at it. None of that weight he added will translate into functional football strength. Keith Rivers had zero (0) sacks and only five tackles for loss on the season. I guess, in that regard, we could replace Ian Gold's production without missing a beat.
I wouldn't draft Rivers at 43. Do we have to be a candyass finesse team for all eternity?

Bunkley was a flash in the pan, one-year wonder at FSU. Ellis has 36 starts under his belt and was a productive tackle through the duration of that span.

This team doesn't improve until we fortify the trenches. It may not be sexy or exciting. But it has to be done! No more waiting till the latter rounds looking for linemen. We need blue-chip hosses on both fronts.
I've watched Rivers, i just don't see what others see when saying he should be a 1st round pick. He pads up nicely, thats about it.

Go after Sedrick Ellis! He immediately improves your LBs. Then get Chris Williams and call it a day. If the Broncos could come away with those two players, anything else they do would be gravy, IMHO.

A perfect 1st day, IMO.

Our #12, Walker, and Foxy to the Dolphins for #1 overall.
Take D-Mac.
Tell me why this is not the best deal ever. . . for both teams

simply because without a good solid O-line he wouldn't do much more than Young or Henry without a good O-line noone is going to be as good as you would hope they would be even D-Mac

Why?
They get Walker to pair with Booker and Ginn.
Foxworth is a starting CB.
The 12 is a better place to take Brohm or WOodson.
They probably would not make it, but laughing their buts off, nah!
Try again

Before the season had you told me that AP would have done what he did behind Anthony Herrera and Ryan Cook I would have laughed at you, and with you.
Talented RB's make things happen when there is nothing.

minnesota's O-line is alot better than Denver's so saying that AP would've came in here and put up the number's he did is assinine and would not have happened

Look at what the #1 overall pick typically gets for a return when the team trading up is sending a top 5 pick.
Now ask yourself if Walker and Foxworth are really equal to the gap between the 4th overall pick and the 12th overall pick, an '09 first rounder form a top 5 selecting team, an '08 2nd rounder, and an '09 2nd or 3rd rounder. Because thats the standard price. Two first day picks in the current season and another two the next, with the first for each year included.
We'd be lucky to get a 3rd for Walker or Foxworth. If we could for either one we'd be smart to take it and run.
As for the OP, I like Ellis a lot, and he's nothing like Bunkley. Try more like Mike Patterson of the Eagles but with more natural ability. However, trading up when we have so few picks and so many needs as it is just doesn't strike me as a smart move. I also think the chances of Ellis being there at 12 are pretty damn high. Someone is going to overpick one of the QBs and its going to push other guys down to us. Why not wait and see what type of prize we can get?

The Broncos don't lose draft picks with my trade up . They trade their 2 rounder for New Englands second rounder.
