It is variously translated as "No one can speak ill of the dead," "Of the dead, speak no evil," or, more literally, "Let nothing be said of the dead but what is good."

She deserves credit for being the first female NFL owner and for hanging onto the franchise all these years instead of treating it like an old wedding dress.

AND she did win a Super Bowl while owning the Rams.

RIP.

Frrom a local sports perspective, the interest is what Kroenke will do. Rumor was that he would become the majority owner, if not total control, of the Rams. I believe there is a rule that NFL owners cannot own other franchises, which means he would have to sell the Avs and Nuggets. Not certain, but an interesting possibility.

then nothing would be said! I will speak ill will of her. Why stop now since she is gone. After she took control of her husband's team after he got murdered (yes, it wasnt proven but I will go with my own and many other's opinion that the witch had something to do with it and not be a drowning), she canned her step kids. She let the Rams die here in SoCal so she can easily move it to St Louis where she can grab some PSL money. See ya beatch. I am not one for those to die unnaturaly and early but since you are gone and I had nothing to do with it, good riddance beatch.

They were talking about her on the radio on the way home.

The title of it in from some website read "NFL owner has two minute warning"

Brutal and classless.

She got it under "suspicious circumstances" at best. Not to mention what she did to Rosenblooms son after the unfortunate "accident"...

Robert Kraft owns a soccer team.

Paul Allen owns the Portland Trailblazers.

i dont think that rule is true.

The NFL does not allow its majority shareholders to also be the majority shareholders of other pro sports team in a different NFL city.

So Paul Allen can own 100% of the Blazers and Seahawks, because there is no NFL team in Portland (and never will be).

Bob Kraft owns the New England Revolution, both play at Gillette, so they're in the same city.

If Kraft wanted to buy a majority share of the Knicks for example, that wouldn't be allowed. He could however buy the majority share of the Celtics because technically Boston doesn't have a sports team, and the one that could most easily be assigned to them is already his.

Word around St. Louis is that Kroenke might sell his Denver area teams, but I don't see that happening. He own the Nugs, Avs, Rapids (soccer) and Mammoths (lacrosse). Him being a Missouri boy born and raised isn't enough to have him sell off that many teams, and his part ownership stake in the stadiums and facilities they all use, just to own the Rams.

Now if the Cardinals hit the market, which is something that is heavily rumored around here, then I could see it. Baseball is king in this part of the country, and he could use the capital gained from selling his Colorado teams to acquire the Cards and a majority interest in the Rams. I doubt it'd be very long before he gets an MLS expansion team in St. Louis as well, there are a few proposals already in the works but if he wants to make a major play I'm sure he'd jump to the front of the line, being a previous owner.

Only 9 games a year. 8 on the road and one sell out for the 49ers. No one liked her when she was alive so I give no reason to give her love now. I will let her family that arent from the Rosenblooms clan their love to her.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georgia_Frontiere

Frontiere inherited ownership of the team, then based in Anaheim, California, in 1979, after the death of her husband. Rosenbloom, an avid ocean swimmer, died mysteriously in the Atlantic. Although no evidence of foul play was uncovered, it is rumored that Rosenbloom, a high stakes gambler, was killed over failure to repay debts. The PBS series Frontline investigated the story and reported mafia involvement. Rosenbloom left the team to Frontiere in his will, but it is speculated that this was only for tax purposes and that Rosenbloom wanted his son Steven to assume control. However, Frontiere quickly dismissed her stepson from the organization and assumed full control.

ok explain man ... he died in the ocean and you think she had something to do with it ... and sounds like we know it was a failure to pay hit ...

i understand the fans out west not liking losing their team ... in a Major League type way "the movie" how the lady wants to move the team so she trys to let the team just die ... "if thats what she did in L.A. cuz i dont know if she did ..

explain a little liljohn ... im not busting your balls it just seem like people hated her like she was Hitler for just being a typical owner ...
and i don't know tons about the topic ... why i ask ... seems the worst thing she did was dismissed the stepson thing ... and yea thats pretty crappy ... but he should have never willed it to her then ... even if it was a tax dodge ...

The mob doesn't kill gamblers who owe them money. That would be counter-productive. They might break their legs, but they don't kill them. More likely, they would have demanded a piece of the team.

Where do you think the movie "Major League" originated from? The lady in the Movie had the same exact background as Georgia.

TDmvp
01-19-2008, 06:17 PM
i didn't know it actually originated from her ... and can't find anything that says that on the web ... but yea i agee

When Rachel Phelps (Margaret Whitton (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Whitton)), a former Las Vegas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Las_Vegas%2C_Nevada) showgirl (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Showgirl), inherits the team from her late husband, it doesn't look like their fortunes will change any time soon. The greedy Phelps hates Municipal Stadium (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cleveland_Stadium) and the city (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cleveland%2C_Ohio), and sees an opportunity to get out of Cleveland: if the team's attendance falls below 800,000 paid customers, she can legally void the Indians' lease with the city and move the team to Miami, Florida (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miami%2C_Florida).

Frontiere a well known Miami dancer inherited ownership of the team, then based in Anaheim, California (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anaheim%2C_California), in 1979 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1979), Rosenbloom wanted his son Steven to assume control. However, Frontiere quickly dismissed her stepson from the organization and assumed full control. A native of St. Louis, Missouri (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Louis%2C_Missouri), Frontiere moved the Rams to St. Louis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Louis%2C_Missouri), which was a financially risky proposition initially but soon proved to be a goldmine as the city of St. Louis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Louis%2C_Missouri) provided a publicly funded stadium for $260 million, and more than $22 million was guaranteed in annual luxury suite and ticket revenues

cut up georgia's wiki and it almost looks like the movie plot lol .... but had no idea it was taken from her story ...

Rosenbloom was the sixth of seven husbands. The black widow was satiatated after the millionaire was consumed.

She had 10,000 media guides recalled once because she couldn't stand the picture they used of her in her bio.
