This afternoon, Randy will likely get snubbed again as they announce the Hall of Fame finalists. 5PM ET on the NFL Network. We'll find out about TD and Zimmerman too.
http://www.gradishar4hof.com/home.aspx then click on videos
Anyway, watch this video narrated by Steve Sabol. This was the video that was put together for Randy back in 2002-2003.
I spliced a video together of my games and the Committee for Gradishar loved it. But they couldn't really use it because it was not encompassing enough and was inconsistent in quality.
Anyway after you click on the link, click of videos and watch the film. It's 10 minutes in length and is a great tribute to Randy.

People seem to love Brian Urlacher these days. Urlacher is a pale reflection of Gradishar.

Thx Blove.
In the event he doesn't we can send letters to the Rocky Mountain News editor letters@RockyMountainNews.com and ask them to get his story out to the public. Every bit helps. If enough letters come in it get's their attention and helps them realize what IS NEWS and what should be covered.
It makes a difference. I hope this is Randy's year.
I'm busy hammering law makers on my deal but I broke this email off to RMN.
If we get a dozen or more to them I bet they do something. It's easy to do nothing and expect results but it doesn't work that way. Take 10 seconds to draft something up!
To whom it may concern:
The RMN needs to run a story on Randy Gradishar. We've had too many Broncos snubbed in years passed. If you run a story please add this link about randy. He's up for nomination again and needs the support of all Broncos fans including the Rocky Mountain news.

Many of us from www.orangemane.com assembled in Canton for Elways HOF induction and we will show up in force again but we need your help RMN.
Go Broncos!

Nice! What's the plan B-love? I'm ready to do what I can to help if you have ideas. I figure getting the local press to run some stories might motivate some more people in Denver to get these bone heads to vote our guys in?

Meck, I wish I was in a position to be active here, but I really do not know at this point.
I am not involved any longer and especially with what recently happened to my family, I don't have any time to commit to anything.
I doubt he gets in, but if he does I will be ready to help organize one of the best weekends of our lives.
Dude, I really need all of my tapes back and I know my PM has been full. But alot of my tape conversions to DVD did not go well, so you have the best copies of my tapes, and I need to redo them. No rush, but please call me to arrange sending them back sometime in February or March.
Thanks.

To answer Meck's question, when you click on the link at the top, it will list the people who are actively working on Randy's behalf, i.e. the Committee to Elect Randy for the HOF.
Perhaps you could call them to see what could be done.
Basically what it comes down to is trying to get the 8-10 pricks on the Voting Committee, who are not in Randy's corner, and somehow switch their vote.
It's that simple. But at this point I do not know who the detractors are. One thing that people could do is read all of the national papers tomorrow and in the coming days because almost all of these sportswriters, who are on the Committee, will write a "here's who I think gets in" article.
So people could try to identify who is not in Randy's corner, so we could try to influence them somehow.
But with their vote again in 2 weeks, it does not leave many reasonable options.

This appears to be the hired gun Randy has gotten to "spread the word".
Anyone from Colorado know anything about him. Has a good resume for Denver area sports I guess. The rest of the guys on the Committee are in the video, Stan Jones, Joe Collier and John Ralston.

I'll be glad to give you any game tapes you need that I might have (mostly from the '80s). They're just gathering dust in my basement. I think you have an idea of what I have but PM me with any specifics. Might be able to help.

It's unfortunate that Joel Bachsbaum passed away because he was one of Gradishar's biggest supporters.

Not only Gradishar, but I would take Joe Collier as the DC right now. You watch the video and I have forgotten just how special that defense was.

It might have been linked somewhere else around here, but the RM News had a great article on Randy today, as well as some related stories on the HOF process.
One little blurb/box really caught my attention. It dealt with a variety of "team success" indicia since the 1970 merger. There were several categories, as I recall, mostly dealing with overall wins and winning percentages. There have been only four franchises, since 1970, who placed within the top five in all of those categories: Pittsburgh, Dallas, Miami and Denver.
Pittsburgh has 17 in the HOF.
Dallas and Miami have 10 and 9.
Denver has 1.

Great stats. Powerful stuff.
I posted earlier in this thread a simple comparison between modern-era player Urlacher and Randy Gradishar, who I consider similar players.
Maybe one of you guys with the time to do such a thing could put together a comparison between Gradishar and some of the modern-era LB's who project for the HOF. I think that Urlacher might be a first ballot guy if he continues on his current trajectory, and if Urlacher finds his way in while Gradishar sits on the outside looking in it would surely be an unmitigated travesty.

Ok that was a little big, but to me growing up gradishar was always larger than life.
Randy and the Orange Crush Defense is the reason I became a die hard Bronco fan over 30 years ago.

I understand the angle....but I hate this type of thought process. Randy deserves the Hall based on his own merit and not solely because Denver needs more players in based on team success.
On any scale you use, Randy is HOF worthy.

Peter King thinks Andre Tippett gets in, but no mention of Randy. King listed the 7 players he thinks will get in, and Randy wasn't listed.
Unreal.
If Tippett gets in and Randy is shut out, that will be disgusting. I know he won't get in, but I am ready to get real pissed about this.

Word, it is an extreme injustice that Randy may not make it in this his 20th year of eligibility.
I heard on a radio talk show earlier this week from a guy that kinda lobby's for players to get into the HOF...And in his 6 players of choice, He thinks Randy gets in. My fingers, toes and eyes are crossed. I do not want to get my hopes up, but I really can not help it now.
Tomorrow I will either be pissed off in a major way or I will cry for the second time in my football career, the other being our 1st SB win.
