Post here if you approve. Seriously, can we send something like this to them!?

Dear Mike Shanahan, Ted Sundquist, Jim Goodman and the rest of the Broncos staff who oversee the draft operations:

With your slough of unsuccessful operations regarding free agency, it finally seems like you've realize the importance of the draft. Where the Broncos finished poorly this year and are picking in the top half of round one, there is a lot of talent to be had in this years draft class. Where I'm no scout, I do know a bit about some players and I watch a lot of college games each week and try and "couch analyze" the prospects coming out in future drafts. This year has an abundance of talent at positions like RB, WR, OT, LB and even DE. Several of these positions in my opinion are places that you could potentially upgrade. I know you're holding the #12 pick, and you almost never get to pick that high, but trading down and acquiring more picks would give you infinite possibilities. If you want this team to win, look at Ted Thompson and what he's done in Green Bay. He's taken a draft first approach and it's paid off; the Packers are in the NFC Championship Game.

Please consider trading down to help this team out not only now, but in the future. More picks equals more possibilities, and Denver could use more of a lot of things.

Sincerely,

A Concerned Broncos Fan

I think Requiem should have added the following paragraph to the bottom of his otherwise splendid letter:

P.S. You folks should be ****ing embarassed about the Minnesota game. If the entire organization (including the aforementioned Msrs. addressed at the top) wasn't running up and down the steps of the stadium holding cinder blocks after that joke of a game, I'd be terribly disappointed and depressed at the state of things. You guys are a real piece of work ****ing us all over like that. I hope you are proud of yourselves.

Socal will no longer speak to me but, here it goes.

Trade down I'm safe so far :)

I'm leaning more towards a offensive draft in 08. Solid group of RB's OT's WR's in this draft.

FA sign DT LB

Although, i dont agree, i like the intent of the letter, and if DEN traded back, it wouldnt be the end of the world.
I would rather use the next 2 drafts and draft big with extra 1st rounders, i'll guess we'll just see.
I agree with the Ted Thompson approach too though. Trading back isnt a bad idea at all.

I think its fair to call out the FO. They have to keep getting better.

I agree with NFL, we need two more first day picks.

It might be unpopular but with the wealth of talent this year and what I believe will be a lack there of next season, we should try to position ourselves to land as many kids early as we can.

Trade back from 12. Pick up a late first, additional second and possibly another undisclosed pick. OFFER up 2009 first rounder with another one of our selection to move back into day one.

We'll for crying out loud, if DEN is going to give up its 2009 1st, for another this year, then i could see a trade scenario which would benefit DEN in the immediate draft, but next year would be a problem. Theres STILL alot of talented players in 2009, bro.
